The two comedians started it as a campus kitchen at Jackson State University in collaboration with Sodexo and Sodexomagic.
After cooperation on the A&E/Hulu TV Reality Show Kings from BBQCedric The Entertainer and Anthony Anderson have opened a restaurant in Los Angeles.
According to Restaurant hospitality, The two comedians and best friends, Cut the ribbon on AC -BARBECUEconvenient In the Westfield Century City Outdoor Mall. The specialty of the restaurant is Southern Barbecue.
AC Barbeque also sells merchandise such as sauces, rubbing, grill tools and other BBQ opportunities and ends.
“The transition was simple – and I had the idea of developing herbs and sauces for our BBQ -levens -style line, and the television show was a by -product,” Anderson said. “It was a natural evolution. We wanted to document two friends who created a national company in a room that was not a face that looked at ours. Starting with rubbing, sauces, food trucks and ultimately restaurants. We used what we have learned in Hollywood to push ourselves to success.”
According to information on the DUO website, AC Barbeque started with three specialist barbecue herbs, which led to other products being sold under the brand made by Cedric and Anderson, including grill items, utensils, sauces and clothing.
Last spring AC Barbeque launched its first campus kitchen at Jackson State University in collaboration with Sodexo and Sodexomagic. Six extra campuses were added in the fall of 2024.
“The idea that you have to produce it from top to bottom is very similar to a TV program,” said Cedric The Entertainer. “You have to start with the basics, what the food itself is, or a script for the TV, and then you have to put together the right staff – you have to find a great chef and good people to run the front of the restaurant, so this is your cast that you put together and then you have to have a premiere and give it up and let them decide.”
There are plans to open more restaurants at different locations.
