Catering branches in Tamil Nadu should be intimate if they have shown the name of the establishment in Tamil according to the rules, during their registration and during the renewal. The Labor Welfare and Skill Development department of the state government recently changed the rules in this respect.

Although they were also obliged to show the nameplate in Tamil, according to rule 42-b of the Tamil Nadu Catering Establishment Rules, 1959, many of these branches did not follow the rule. Recently, the form that I changed to make these units are intimate if they have exhibited their name in Tamil and, if so, submit proof.

According to Rule 42-B, the nameplate of each location in Tamil and where other languages are also used, the version in English is followed in second place by the versions in other languages, if applicable. “The Tamil version is written mainly in the nameplate by offering more space than for other languages.”

Another amendment to the rules also requires these units to intimate whether they have made the contribution to the Tamil Nadu Labor Welfare Fund for the previous year and submit proof in this regard.
