A collection of eight exclusive penthouses has been launched in phase one of Carrington Place, the largest residential masterplan in Castle Hill in Sydney’s northwest.

Located in the Atrium, the homes being developed by Ellipse Property will offer bespoke buyer-led design, bespoke joinery and custom floor plan configurations.

The penthouse collection includes a combination of three and four bedrooms ranging from 160 to 334 square feet in size, priced from $2.52 million to $5.4 million.

According to Blake Schulze, National Director of Residential at Colliers, four-bedroom apartments in the Hills District are difficult to find, but the opportunity to create a bespoke home is truly unique and allows penthouse buyers to purchase their own home tailored to their personal lifestyle.

“The first penthouse sold quickly thanks to its house-like scale, desirable views and the ability for the buyer to personalize it,” he said.

Associate director of Ellipse Property, Puja Khanna, said offering flexibility through customization ensures that each penthouse reflects the buyer’s individual lifestyle and needs.

“If a buyer wants to add extra storage or enlarge a particular room, we can do that because we want to deliver a space that feels like home from day one,” she says.

Ms Khanna said Atrium launched with 153 apartments and prior to the penthouse collection they had not launched anything on level seven where they had a set of 16 apartments on a typical floor plate.

“We took them off the market and decided to combine them into eight super apartments and we called them the penthouse collection,” she said.

Ms Khanna said because the design of the building was already set, there were many criteria for what could and could not be changed.

“The Ellipse in-house team took on the challenge of developing the eight penthouses and our sale came with the layouts depending on demand, with larger kitchens with utility rooms, walk-in laundry rooms and larger balconies with facilities for barbecues or bars,” she said.

Ms Khanna said Castle Hill and especially the showground where the Atrium is located, is seeing a lot of apartments coming onto the market there.

According to Ms Khanna, the main reason for property growth in the area is the metro and connectivity to the Sydney CBD, in addition to location such as its proximity to Macquarie University.

“That plays a major role in the housing boom in that district,” she said.

“As we are talking about penthouses, the downsizing market there is huge and people who live in Castle Hill don’t want to leave the hills, they love that area and their families are there.

“Because there is no other product available at the time, they are leaning a bit towards larger apartments and projects like ours.”

Penthouse buyer Miriam knew what she wanted to get out of her apartment and found the five bedrooms ideal because many options in the search were too small.

“Even though it’s just my husband and I, we both have our own businesses, so we have two separate studies and things like that,” she said.

“We wanted to stay in the hilly area.

“I almost gave up when I went online and found Carrington Place.”

By instilling her own wishes during the design, Miriam said she received photos of the apartment along the way.

“What attracted me most was that they were happy with the penthouse to make changes,” she said.

“I’ve asked for extra things and they’ve been very accommodating.

“I asked for the electric fireplace, I even asked for a revolving shoe cabinet.”

Miriam said she loves the process of creating her own space.

“I love designing, I’m just in my element,” she said.

“This is a brand new place and I get exactly what I want.”
