Casemiro’s future in Manchester United was subject to speculation in the summer – and this seems to be repeating itself next year.
The Brazilian midfielder arrived in 2022 from Real Madrid and enjoyed an impressive debut campaign in Old Trafford among former manager Erik ten Hag.
Casemiro finished the campaign with seven goals and six assists of 51 games for the Premier League Giants, which would win the EFL cup.
The 33 -year -old, however, slipped the pecking order the next campaign and was not part of the MatchDay team for the FA Cup final, which United won.
Casemiro initially played the second violin to Manuel Ugarte last season. However, he became known in the last months of the season under Ruben Amorim, especially in the Europa League.
Casemiro is sought in the Middle East
Casemiro was expected to leave United this summer, especially since his contract will expire next year and he is one of the greatest earners at Old Trafford. The player was also searched by clubs from the East.
According to Trivela (as passed on by Sportsmol) The Brazilian rejected a lucrative offer to move to Saudi Arabia because he wanted to stay in the Theater of Dreams.
The experienced midfielder was initially open to the idea of a new adventure this year, but eventually chose a movement. His recent revival in Fortunes may have played a role in his decision.
Casemiro started this season three of the five games of United, all of which were in the Premier League and a partnership with Bruno Fernandes in the heart of Amorim’s midfield. He also came from the bank in the recent 3-0 defeat against Manchester City, where the Red Devils missed his presence in the middle of the park.
Although he was a peripheral figure last season, the Brazilian now feels important under Amorim and is ready to stay in Old Trafford for the entire campaign 2025/26. The player also has one eye on the FIFA World Cup 2026 and believes that continuing with the Red Devils will improve his opportunities to reach the Carlo Ancelotti team for the tournament.
An option for an extra year
Casemiro’s Deal with United has the option for an extra year, which can be activated by mutual permission.
However, as it looks now, the report reveals that the Brazilian midfielder is not going to record that option. Instead, Casemiro is ready to pursue a new start and would rather stay in Europe, possibly even in another Premier League club.
“The future of Casemiro Beyond this season remains uncertain. Every transfer window, the midfielder is linked to speculation and receives offers and questions from Saudi clubs. Although he has not excluded a step to the Middle East, the 32-year-old is also aware that he could still perform at a high level in another European competition or even in another English club.”
United, meanwhile, already imposes succession plans for midfield and is expected to invest heavily in the position in 2026. The Red Devils wanted Carlos Baleba this summer, and the Cameroonian could be the replacement of Casemiro next year.
