Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is making a quick recovery after his injury against Tottenham Hotspur.
Three players went to Spurs in North London with concerns on Saturday afternoon.
Benjamin Sesko was forced out, meaning the Red Devils had to continue fighting with ten men. Harry Maguire and Casemiro were also both ruled out due to injury problems. The 33-year-old left the field in the 72nd minute and was replaced by Manuel Ugarte.
Impressive Brazilian
The veteran has been in inspired form this season and has consolidated himself as one of Ruben Amorim’s key players in the starting line-up.
He recently scored against Brighton and Hove Albion and Nottingham Forest in the league.
Furthermore, he put in an impressive performance against Tottenham in his side’s 2-2 draw last weekend.
Injury boost
There were fears that the Brazilian would miss some playing time, but these fears have subsided now that he has been called up to the Brazilian national team.
The standard report that “Manchester United have issued a fitness update on Casemiro following his withdrawal against Tottenham.”
The newspaper added: “Although Casemiro was substituted during the Spurs game, with head coach Ruben Amorim suggesting afterwards that the midfielder should leave, the 33-year-old has linked up with Brazil for their matches in Europe.”
The Brazilians will be involved in friendlies against Senegal and Tunisia, with their qualifying campaign already completed.
Casemiro was left out of the Brazilian team only a year ago, but his importance has soared again under his former manager at Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti.
He is now the captain of the team and will certainly lead the Brazilians at the 2026 World Cup, where they will aim to win their sixth title.
