Former Vikings Quarterback Case Keenum is one of the most popular players in recent franchise history. It is hard to believe that his short -term term of office at the Purple Club ended more than seven years ago. Before that magical season he was a travel man passer -by and he has that role again since departure in 2018.

Case Keenum is already a game changer for his new team

Earlier this season outside the season, Skol Nation and Purple The Back -Up Quarterback market is close to a close eye, because the options for the Vikings decreased. One of the boys who was on the fans’ wish lists was Keenum, and he was suddenly off the market when he became a member of the division divers, the Chicago Bears.

Of course he is not expected to take over for starter Caleb Williams, but his presence already pays dividends such as backup and mentor for the young signal camer.

Albert Breer, a respected NFL -Sinsider on Si.com, released one of his Q&A articles on Tuesday and was asked about the development of Williams. The second-year student has recently been in the news because of the report that he tries to avoid the Chicago-bear in the pre-Draft process and to prefer the Twin Cities instead.

Breer emphasized that Williams has completely purchased the new coaching staff and written About his growth: “Progress has been stable so far and Williams is working on it. The bears that add Case Keenum to the Quarterback room was indeed deliberate, and Williams used it, in the use of Keenum almost as another coach after hours (to work at least one ‘to work at least one’ to work at least one ‘to work at least one’ To work at least one “did a good for the players?”

Williams’ talent cannot be denied, and if he can learn the ins and outs of QB game, combined with his poor talent and mobility, the division can be in trouble.

To learn those ins and outs, he must be coached. Some of the reported problems were easy to repair, as he did not know how to view gamef film. Guess who has watched film in the NFL for more than a decade and can help Williams if necessary. Things on the field, such as managing the game more instead of trying to make a big game, or throwing the ball away instead of getting into trouble, can also be something that Keenum can help him.

Last year the bears only had second -year Tyson Bagent as the real backup of Williams. Austin Reed, an unsigned Rookie, was in the practical team. Chicago separated roads with a more experienced passer -by, and now Viking, Brett Rypien, after the preseason.

The infrastructure of Minnesota is part of why Williams wanted to go to the Vikings. Kevin O’Connell himself is a former NFL quarterback, and he would certainly have been a better partner for a Rookie signal caller than Matt Eberflus.

In addition, the Vikings have respected offensive coordinator Wes Phillips in the building, as well as QB coach and former NFL QB Josh McCown. Grant Udinski, formerly the assistant -qb coach, was hired by the Jaguars as OC this season outside the season. He was asked last season to accompany JJ McCarthy.

In the meantime, Chicago had a defensive head coach with Lame-Duck and an overwhelming offensive coordinator, Shane Waldron, who has already been on the wrong side of some horrible reports when it comes to developing Williams. The new staff around the new HC Ben Johnson should be more friendly.

Well, they also have an extra coach in Keenum.

Keenum was a shooter record breaker at the University of Houston, but still remained unsigned in 2012. He is substandard, and that certainly did not help, but the Texans added the hometown to the offseason roster, and that is where his career of the Reisman started. Before he played for the Vikings, he spent time with the Texans and Rams.

Keenum threw up for 3,547 Yards, 22 TouchDowns and seven interceptions in his only Viking season. Planned to be the back -up for Sam Bradford, he was suddenly asked to supplement the attack with explosive weapons on the outside and a decent running game. Of course, having an elite defense helped him. In exchange for a cheap salary, Keenum delivered one of the biggest plays in the history of franchise when he found Stefon Diggs in the last seconds of a Matchup division round for the Minneapolis Miracle.

His magic fell in 2018 after drawing at the Broncos, which resulted in 18 touchdowns and 15 picks. Denver quickly continued and sent him to Washington, where he collaborated with Kevin O’Connell and threw 11 TDs and threw five Ints. Since then he has been a backup in Cleveland, Buffalo and Houston. He missed the entire season of 2024 on injured reserve.

Keenum has played in 80 career matches (66 starts) and registers 15.175 Yards, 79 TouchDowns and 51 picks.

He will organize the Vikings in week 1 and return to US Bank Stadium in week 11.
