It’s not just an NBA Cup trophy at stake in Las Vegas.
Players and the head coach of the winning team will each take home $530,000.
Some Knicks are already daydreaming about what they would do with the extra money if they beat Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs on Tuesday night.
“I’m going to pay my rent,” Knicks guard Jordan Clarkson said. “They can just have everything.”
Karl-Anthony Towns is thinking of something charitable.
“Honestly, I’ll probably give it to the Dominican Republic,” Towns said. “They have ‘Go Sports’ and ‘Go Ministries’ there. I’m confident that the money will go there and take care of the kids in the DR that I would like to win so I can give them more money and help the community there.”
Josh Hart, who had a $185,000 stash of watches and jewelry stolen from a SoHo hotel room last month, will replenish his collection.
“I’m buying a watch,” Hart said. “…I lost three watches, so I have to go replace them. We’re in Vegas. If I put it on a blackjack hand, I might be able to double it and get more watches.”

The Spurs’ Keldon Johnson has an even stranger idea: buy a llama for his ranch outside San Antonio, where he already houses dozens of animals.
While the money isn’t life-changing for highly paid NBAers like Brunson and Towns, Knicks sophomore Tyler Kolek will get a big bonus on top of his $2.2 million salary if he wins.
“It’s definitely a big number. Last Christmas I bought my mother a car with the money we got,” Kolek said last week. “Last year we were in this round and didn’t get any further. So hopefully we can get it done. It would be a nice little Christmas present.”
This time, he said, he is buying a car for his father.
