This will be the year that the Knicks break through and reach the NBA final, according to a former star that became an analyst.
Carmelo Anthony made that prediction on Monday during an NBA season preview event in Stamford, Conn., At NBC Sports Headquarters to promote the return of the network to wearing the competitions of the competition.
“The Knicks will be the number 1 seed in the east. I want to talk about why I believe that,” said Anthony, the former Knicks -who has joined NBC as a studio analyst. “They have been prepared for this position for the past three or four years. I have the point guard,” said Anthony as part of a panel discussion with colleague -NBA analysts and former star Tracy McGrady and Vince Carter. “We have the best big man who is possibly in the history of basketball … we have Jalen Brunson there, who runs the point. I think this year with Mike Brown, Jalen Brunson will play the ball, together with Jordan Clarkson in the game. I see them fast pace that they have that [are] Play with. Under the leadership of Brunson, the Knicks reached the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000 last spring, although they fell on the Pacers in six games.
