Canelo Alvarez – Last 5 fights

  • Win vs. William Scull – UD – May 3, 2025
If I’m honest, I’m not sure if Canelo has won this fight. Scull’s game plan was not exactly crowd pleasing, but Canelo could not touch him. He exposed the lack of foot speed of Canelo and it can be part of Crawford’s blueprint to beat him. Canelo’s Number: C
  • Win vs. Edgar Berlanga – UD – September 14, 2024
Canelo’s hand speed could be seen. He dropped Berlanga with an annoying, fast and cunning left hook. However, I don’t think Canelo had a search mentality in this fight, so Berlanga went the distance. Canelo’s figure: B-
  • Win vs. Jaime Munguía – UD – 4 May 2024
Canelo dropped Munguia with a perfectly placed blow, but did not go for the finish as he could have in this fight. Very similar level of content dominance with the Berlanga fight. Canelo’s figure: B
  • Win vs. Jermell Charlo – UD – September 30, 2023
Charlo’s effort was embarrassing in this fight. Canelo knew he didn’t want to fight and he punished him enough to win the fight. Charlo, however, made it difficult for both man to look good. Canelo’s figure: B
  • Win vs. John Ryder – UD – May 6, 2023
Canelo didn’t look great in this, although he was clearly better than Ryder. He had postponed the tough and game, but failed to get the finish. Canelo’s figure: B

Terence Crawford – Last 5 fights

  • Win vs. Israil Madrimov – UD – 3 August 2024
This was a very heavy fight for Crawford. The style and movement of Madrimov gave him a real challenge. Crawford won, but it was much closer than many had expected. The level of success of Madrimov can worry a number of crawford fans. Crawford’s grade: B-
  • Win vs. Errol Spence JR – TKO (R9) – July 29, 2023
This was demonstrably the characteristic performance of Crawford. He destroyed Spence in their long -awaited fight. Spence does not look like the same hunter after his car accident and the hardships of his career. Yet Crawford was dominant in a fight that he had waited almost all his career. Crawford’s grade: A+
  • Win vs. David Avanesyan – Ko (R6) – December 10, 2022
Full domination for Crawford in a fight he should have dominated. Avanesyan is not at the Crawford level and it looked like this. Crawford’s grade: A
  • Win vs. Shawn Porter – Tko (R10) – November 20, 2021
This was a great fight, something that you often see when Porter is involved. This can be the most impressive victory of Crawford, everything that comes together. Porter is as cool as they come. Crawford not only defeated Porter, he became the only man who stopped him. Crawford’s grade: A+
  • Win vs. Kell Brook – Tko (R4) – November 14, 2020
Perhaps Brook was far beyond his prime when this fight took place. In any case, Crawford destroyed him within four rounds to strengthen his place as one of the most important good weights in the world. Crawford’s grade: A

Undercard Spotlight: Christian Mbili vs. Lester Martinez

Christian Mbilli is one of the rising forces on 168 pounds, and his collision with Lester Martinez could be a springboard for even greater opportunities. At the weightings, both men entered 167 pounds, indicating that they are ready for the fight.

Mbilli, who steadily climbed the ranks, knows that a strong performance here could position him as the next challenger for the super middleweight crown. However, Martinez is a dangerous opponent who brings the ring strength and toughness.

This fight may not have the spotlights of the event, but it could very well steal the show if Mbilli looks as sharp as expected.
