With training camps around the corner, Trade Chatter picks up again – this time around Boston Bruins Vooruit Pavel Zacha.
According to Marco d’Amico Reports that several teams have shown interest in Zacha, including the Montreal Canadiens and Calgary Flames. D’Amico reported that the Canadiens talked with Boston about the 28-year-old attacker, although he emphasized that nothing is on his hands. “He is on the radar of the Canadiens,” D’Amico confirmed.
James Murphy from RG.org expanded the reports and noted that Montreal “certainly interested in Zacha and asked him”, while it adds that the flames are another team to keep an eye on. Although Montreal and Calgary are the only confirmed clubs, sources suggest that there can be extra teams that follow the situation.
Murphy writes: “Donny [Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney] Does not shop him … this is only he his work and listens. I don’t see this as something that would happen before American Thanksgiving. Zacha would be an attractive pick -up for every competition if he becomes legitimate. On 6-foot-3 and 206 pounds, he has become a reliable top-six player. In the past three seasons, he has an average of 55 points per 82 games on average while retaining a Faceoff -Win rate above 50 percent.
With two years on his current deal and an affordable cap -hit, Zacha remains an important part of the forward group of the Bruins. Unless an overwhelming offer arrives, the team seems to hold on to a new Play -Off Push.
For the Canadiens, interested in Zacha, he is probably one of the different players who keep an eye on the Habs this season.
