Holger Rune and Daniil Medvedev kept themselves in the Nitto ATP Finals battle with positive performances at the Rolex Shanghai Masters. ATPTour.com will be looking at the movers of the week in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin from Monday 13 October.
Holger Rune – 12th (2,490 points), +2
The Dane has moved up two places to twelfth in the Live Race after reaching the quarter-finals in Shanghai. Rune claimed three victories at the ATP Masters 1000 event, putting him almost 945 points ahead of eighth-seeded Lorenzo Musetti, who is in the last qualifying spot. Rune, who competes in Stockholm this week, qualified for Turin in 2023. Rune will need an impressive final month of the season if he is to return to Italy in November, but he has already found his best on the indoor hard courts and won his first Masters 1000 title in Paris in 2022.

Novak Djokovic – third (4,580), +1
Djokovic has climbed to third place in the Live Race and is on the brink of qualifying for the prestigious end-of-year event after a semi-final in Shanghai where he lost to eventual title winner Valentin Vacherot. The record seven-time Nitto ATP Finals champion is 35-11 this season, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index.
Alex de Minaur – Seventh (3,545)
The Australian consolidated his seventh place after advancing to the quarter-finals in Shanghai. De Minaur recorded his 50th tour-level victory of the season at the event. It is the first time that the 26-year-old has recorded 50 wins in a season. He will next compete in the ATP 500 event in Vienna, starting on Monday, October 20.
Daniil Medvedev – 15th (2,360), +5
Medvedev kept his dim chances of qualification alive by reaching the semi-finals in Shanghai, beating De Minaur on his way to 8-4 in the pair’s Lexus ATP Head2Head series. The 29-year-old has competed in the year-end event for the past six years and won the trophy in 2020. He will be hoping to earn more points this week in Almaty, where he is the second seed at the ATP 250 event.
Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have already qualified for the Nitto ATP Finals, which will take place from November 9 to 16 at the Inalpi Arena in Turin.
