The Threat Podcast host Dennis James was joined by series regulars Milos Sarcev and Chris Cormier for episode 261 of The Menace Podcast, and the gang took some time to discuss Rubiel “Neckzilla’s” gigantic legs. Can anyone compete in bodybuilding with those oversized limbs?

Now that the venue for the 2026 Mr Olympia competition has been announced and the Arnold Classic competitions in the US and Britain are taking place in March, bodybuilding observers are trying to figure out what kind of physique the judges want to see next year. This year, Samson Dauda lost a second Mr Olympia win because he dropped too much weight, while Nick Walker failed to crack the top five as “The Mutant” failed to present a refined package. No doubt, winning on stage is a matter of finding the difficult balance between size and fitness, but in the world of bodybuilding, bigger is often better. “Why did Derek (Lunsford) win (Mr Olympia) this year?” asked Milos Sarcev. “It was bigger. And size mattered,” he confirmed. Of course, when it comes to size, Colombian giant Rubel Mosquera is always in the conversation. Not only does he have an insane 52cm neck, hence his nickname ‘Neckzilla’, but his legs are also gigantic, measuring a whopping 80cm in length.

“How big do you have to be, to be big enough,” Sarcev asked about creating the perfect body. “Well, Rubio has some big legs too,” Chris Cormier responded, noting that Derek Lunsford wasn’t the only one with big limbs in Las Vegas. “Can you imagine being in the pros and making everyone’s legs look small?” Dennis James asked, drawing a knowing laugh from his panel. “There’s not a man on that stage who can stand next to Rubio, with his quads, and not look small,” the announcer said. “And calves,” Cormier added.

Sarcev recalled meeting Neckzilla in Las Vegas during the 2025 Olympia weekend and counted his quads as the equivalent of four of his hands, all the way around. “I can tell you that when he did cardio, it was a sight to behold,” Cormier joked, saying the Colombian’s huge inner legs made movement difficult. Cormier also added that the big man owes his proportions, including that enormous neck, to working on the farm as a child and holding heavy objects for long periods of time.

During the podcast, Milos Sarcev also opened up about his own struggles with building muscular legs, noting that the mistake of injecting synthol into his calves caused massive damage. “Listen, children,” Cormier advised, so that Sarcev’s story could serve as a warning to avoid shortcuts.
