Callaway has launched the latest generation of Chrome Soft golf balls with the 2026 model featuring a new Tour Fast Mantle layer.
The Soft is now 16% better when it comes to ball speed thanks to the latest design the 2026 Chrome ball seriesheadlined by the Fast Mantle design.
The new Tour Fast Mantle is joined by an even softer urethane feel and the Advanced Seamless Tour Aero feature for a more consistent and penetrating flight through the air.
Launched together with the Tour And Guided tour models, the Chrome Soft has the lowest compression and is the best all-round performer for the widest range of golfers.
Advantages and disadvantages
✅ Very soft face feel for a tour-level ball, especially on putts and finesse wedges
✅ Designed for “explosive” ball speed, so you still get big distance despite the softer compression
✅ The urethane-covered tour-style construction gives you high spin on the green and good control all the way to the flag
✅ Positioned for a wide range of golfers rather than just elite ballplayers, making it more forgiving on off-center shots than many tour balls
❌ Softer overall profile means slightly higher spin and possibly more curvature for very fast swingers compared to Chrome Tour/Tour
❌ Not the longest option in the family for players seeking maximum tee box distance with low driver spin
❌ The feel may be too muted for those who like a firmer “click” feedback on putts and full irons
❌ Since this is a premium new cycle urethane ball, the price will likely be at the high end of the market, similar to other tour offerings.
Callaway Chrome Soft 2026 Balls Design and Features
The 2026 Chrome Soft still features a three-piece construction suitable for golfers with disabilities and average swing speeds.
With lower compression than the other two tour balls in the range, the Chrome Soft offers higher launch, easy distance and a soft feel compared to the 2025 Chrome Soft And Chrome Soft 360.
This model is designed without an inner layer, but uses a softer core with the Tour Fast Mantle for a mix of higher ball speed with a very soft feel.
The 2026 edition also features Callaway’s Seamless Tour Aero technology to help deliver notable speed gains and greater consistency through the air compared to previous Chrome Soft generations.
Available in white and yellow with Triple Track, TruTrack and an additional 360 Triple Track option that runs around the entire ball.
Callaway Chrome Soft 2026 Golf Balls Review: Are They Any Good?
Callaway’s 2026 Chrome Soft is the playable, soft-feeling brother of the Chrome Tour and Chrome Tour
For club golfers and mid-handicappers who prioritize feel and control over the short game, the Chrome Soft is the most user-friendly route to Callaway’s top-tier ball technology.
The soft compression core and urethane cover are designed to keep spin high around the greens, so you can fly into wedges and see the ball grab and control instead of endlessly releasing.
Beyond the driver, it’s built for strong ball speed rather than outright low spin, so you can expect good distance with a slightly higher spin, more playable flight than the Tour X aimed at aggressive swingers.
