Vijay-guided TVK approached the Madras High Court and sought either a CBI examination or an independent investigation into the incident. The state government declared RS 10 Lakh for every deceased and RS 1 Lakh for each injured person. TVK’s own announcement of RS 20 Lakh for the deceased and RS 2 Lakh for the wounded was supplemented with the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee that offers RS 1 crore per family and the BJP promised RS 1 Lakh per family.
As an addition to the legal proceedings, a man who was injured in the Stampede has submitted a petition to hinder the High Court from preventing the Tamil Nadu DGP to give permission for further public meetings by Vijay until the investigation into Saturday’s tragedy is completed.
Answering questions about the possibility of the arrest of TVK -Chef Vijay, said Minister President MK Stalin that each action would depend on the report of the research panel and emphasized that he would not make any comments that are influenced by political considerations.
Eyewitnesses and officials noted that the stamped escalated when the crowd over the limit of 10,000 people surpassed the rally, swelling to almost 27,000 because of the delayed arrival of Vijay. Many attendees, waiting hours under the burning sun without enough food or water, even fainting before the rally started.
