The moment most eyes were on the ice wasn’t tied to a flurry of goals, a big hit or even the halftime antics. It came before – when the Henderson Silver Knights went through the tunnel for warmups and fans watched to see which goaltender would step on the ice first.

This came amid the Vegas Golden Knights assigning goaltender Carter Hart to Henderson for a conditioning stint. With much anticipation ahead of his potential debut, the newly arrived netminder remained on the bench in a ballcap for the entire 60 minutes.
The attention surrounding Hart could not change the trend that Henderson is on. The Silver Knights lost 6-4 to the Calgary caregivers at Lee’s Family Forum on November 15, extending their skid to four straights.
“I liked our first seven minutes,” Craig said. “We’re 3-2 up at that point, and then we look up and you’re 5-3 down. So it’s not a great job if we’re managing a game there.”
Here’s how the game unfolded as Henderson continues to search for answers.
Calgary Wranglers Top Henderson Silver Knights 6-4
The Wranglers wasted no time getting things going, scoring within 18 seconds. The goal would come from 32-year-old Martin Frk.
“The bounce kind of summed it up at that point: There’s 59 minutes and 42 seconds to play,” Craig said. “We still had a lot of hockey ahead of us.”
Henderson would remain quiet until Raphael Lavoie would get a cool goal in the crease on the power play to level the score at one apiece.
That evening the power play went to 2/6 and remains stable.
“We scored six penalties, which is a good thing,” Craig said. “We won that special teams battle. So overall, some good things.”
Trevor Connelly, working on the power play and making his season debut tonight with the Silver Knights, finished with one assist.
“Trevor played well,” Craig said. “You can see the skill. He got injured this summer, so he didn’t experience training camp. He’s playing catch-up. He can take a deep breath knowing he’s going to get through it healthy and we can work.”
The second period would see six goals scored between the two teams, with goals from Dylan Coghlan, Jonas Røndbjerg and Tuomas Uronen.
“That’s just hockey,” Coghlan said. “It could go that way, or it could be zero to zero. It’s a lot of goals and you’re up and down, you’re pissed off, you’re happy, it’s weird emotions.”
The Silver Knights would fall behind 5-4 heading into the third period and despite being well out of bounds, they were unable to complete the comeback and fell to the Wranglers.
Henderson will be back again tomorrow night at 5:00 PM Pacific Standard Time against the Wranglers.
