General Manager Craig Conroy has made it a goal since he has taken over the acquisition of some young people in the Calgary Flames organization. To date, he has done a good job on that. The Flames now have one of the best prospect poles in the NHL. That said, there is still enough room for improvement when we start with Young NHL talent.
So who are the best U25 players in the organization on their way to the 2025–26 season? Let’s look. To be eligible, a player may not have become by the beginning of the 2025–26 season – October 7, 2025.
1. Dustin Wolf (G)
After a season in which he earned second for the Calder trophy and both Vezina and Hart-Trophy voices earned, Dustin Wolf is the undisputed TOP U25 player in the Flames organization. Wolf is already a start in the competition in the competition in the competition and has the potential to be a top 10 or even top five starter in the NHL for a very long time.
No U25 player in the organization currently has the combination of general potential and NHL results that Wolf does. Heaven is the limit for the seventh round pick 2019, and the future of the Flames is currently highly placed on Wolf’s shoulders.
2. Zayne Parekh (D)
In terms of the general talent level and the ceiling, Zayne Parekh is demonstrable for even Wolf. He just doesn’t have the NHL results to support it, that’s why he comes here at number two. That said, with a strong Rookie season in 2025–26, Parekh will undoubtedly be number one this next year. His talent cannot be denied, and there is no doubt in my mind that one day Perekh will be a superstar defender for the Flames. You do not match records set by Bobby ORR itself, unless you are the real deal.
There are still a few questions about his general defensive game and size, but his attacking skills are perhaps the best in the world among the current NHL prospects. The flames are lucky that they have a talent like Parekh in their system.
3. Matthew Crowned (RW)
After a cool Rookie season in 2023–24 with only nine points, Matthew Coronato showed everyone this last season why the Flames brought him 13th in 2021 in 2021 in 2021. The American wing player burst on the scene last season as one of the best attackers of the Flames, despite the year of the year, despite the year of the year.
The Flames signed Coronato this summer for a long -term deal, which shows how self -confident they are in his future. Although he has no superstotential, such as the first two names, Coronato will have a top-six-wing player of 30 goals in the coming years.
4. Cole Reeschy (C)
The first selection of the Flames in the 2025 design, Cole Reschy, is already one of the most talented U25 players throughout the organization. After an excellent season of 92 points in the WHL as a 17-year-old, it is not difficult to see why. Reeschy owns real top-line upside down in the middle of the ice and is by far the most exciting forward prospect that the flames now have.
Just like Coronato, Rschy is not what I would call an elitental talent, but he is not that far away. His combination of skill and intelligence makes him an intriguing player to watch. If everything goes perfectly in its development, Rny could be the Flames’ 1C of the future. More likely, however, he will become a good second -line center in the NHL.
5. Connor Zary (C/LW)
What exactly is Connor Zary? Is he a center? A winger? Is he a top player, or is he a mediocre player? We still don’t know the answer to one of these questions. What we do know is that Zary is at best one of the best young attackers of the Flames. The problem is that we have not yet seen enough consistency of him.
This coming season will be a huge one to determine the future of Zary in the NHL. If he can stay healthy and take another step, he has the potential to be a 60-point top-six player. The potential is there; It is now time to show it.
6. Cullen Potter (C/LW)
The second first round pick of the Flames in 2025, Cullen Potter, is a division player. Some consider him a potential top-line talent, some project him as a mediocre player. I believe that Potter is more in the top position. He is too skilled to write off. Undoubtedly the best skater of the entire 2025 trekking class, Potter also owns high-end Puck skills and is dynamic with the Puck.
There are some important questions about his size and frame, and whether he cannot adapt to the NHL game. For now, however, Potter is undoubtedly one of the most talented U25 players in the organization, even if he is still a bit raw.
7. Hunter Brzewicz (D)
Lost behind the hype of Zayne Parekh, Hunter Brzustewicz quietly had a really strong first year pro -hockey in 2024–25. Despite a few early struggles, Brzustewicz became better as the year progressed and finished second on the blue line of the Calgary Wranglers in points such as Rookie. Although he does not have the same flash that the above names do, Brzustewicz is perhaps the most NHL-ready prospect in the Flames Pool.
Only 20 years old was able to challenge Brzustewicz for an NHL lane as soon as this coming season. If things keep progressing as they have for Brzustewicz, there is very real second pairing here.
8. Matvei Gridin (RW)
After making a last-minute switch from the NCAA to the Qmjhl, Matvei Gridin Junior hockey illuminated. The first round Pick 2023 led his Shawinigan team in scoring and claimed in the qmjhl Rookie or the Year-Onderschitingen process.
Gridin is currently one of the purely offensive players in the Flames system, with an impressive advantage. Although there is a lot of work to do in his game, his talent cannot be denied. One day I saw a future as an attacking Middle Seat Wing player.
9. Etienne Morin (D)
After a successful and impressive CHL career as one of the best defenders of the Qmjhl, Etienne Morin is ready to make the leap to pro hockey. He sometimes seems to be the forgotten man in Calgary. With many flashy defensive prospects in the system, people sometimes forget how good morin is.
Although he does not have the same advantage as someone like Parekh or Brzustewicz, Morin is a well-completed defender and he is quietly the best U25 LD in the Flames system.
10. Jacob Battaglia (LW)
I threw a few potential names here, but in the end I decided Jacob Battaglia. The second round of 2024 this last season came out of nowhere with 90 points in the OHL in his D+1 season. It is now up to Battaglia to prove that it was not a coincidence.
He is wearing a solid all-round toolkit as a winger, and with a little more development he has real NHL-Bovenkant. It is unlikely that he will become a top-six NHL player, but a future like a central-six-wing player may look like.
Honorable Menions: Aydar Suniev, Adam Klapka, William Stromgren, Sam Honzek
The above names did not crack my last top 10, but also deserve shoutouts. Of the four, Suniev has the highest ceiling as a pure shooter with an NHL level recording.
In the meantime, Honzek must have a big season in the AHL this year, or he could agree on the outside rather than later.
Klapka and Stromgren are both older players with a lower top, but I saw a NHL future as fourth rings for both. Klapka in particular has already shown a few flashes at the NHL level.
