Calgary Flames Top 10 Playoff -Games

At the beginning of this summer, after finding a copy of the “10 Great Playoff Games” of the Calgary Flames, we decided to complete the top 10 with some extra selections from the past decade as voted by some of our writers.

We start with two honorable mentions in the history of Hockey. First is game 7 of the quarterfinals of 1981. This game marked the very first play-off run of the Calgary Flames after moving Atlanta before the start of the season. The flames were against the Philadelphia flyers in a fierce battle. After sweeping the Chicago Blackhawks, the Flames managed to take a 3-1 lead in the series against the flyers. However, the Broad Street pest heads fought back and forced a decisive game 7 in the Spectrum in Philadelphia.

After the flyers scored, the Flames scored again to regain their lead of three goals and win Game 7 4-1. Calgary would continue, but lost 4-2 in the semi-final to the North Stars of Minnesota.
