Exactly on Cue, the BYD Seal 6 made its official debut in Malaysia, whereby BYD Sime Motors formally introduced its latest BYD model for electric vehicles this morning. The model that is the seventh new model of the brand that must be introduced here in two years in the reach of BYD here as his second Sedan-based offer, sitting under the seal-that was launched here last month in its updated form-in the local line-up.
Before we reach the details about the car, let’s get rid of the identity. Although it carries a seal holder and a 6 -year -old, the car is not the Ocean Series Seal 06, of which the EV version of the type was launched a few months ago on the domestic market, but the Dynasty series qin l EV that was introduced in China in March, renamed the Seal 6 for this market.
The arrival here can be a surprise, but as mentioned earlier, the Qin L EV hides in sight in ASEAN since the beginning of this year. In March, a camouflaged prototype of the sedan was actually seen alongside an Atto 2 prior to the debut of the SUV in the Kingdom, but nobody thought a lot at that time.

Two variants of the Seal 6 are available for Malaysia, the first export market for the renamed Qin L EV, and they are the dynamic and premium. They are priced as follows:
- Byd Seal 6 Dynamic – RM100,000
- Byd Seal 6 Premium – RM115.800
This makes the seal 6 considerably cheaper than the seal, which is priced on RM171,800 for the premium (extended range) and RM191,800 for performance (AWD).
Exterior
In terms of size, the sealing 6-Die is supported by the E-Platform of the Automaker. In terms of dimensions, the seal 6 is very related to the seal 06, with its outer measurements reflect the model of the ocean series, with the only difference in width, with the 06 wider with 20 mm.

Beyond the price are comparisons with the seal inevitable, and from a exterior the seal 6 is slightly shorter and narrower, but larger than the seal, which measures 4,800 mm long, 1,875 mm wide and 1,460 mm long, with a 2,920 mm long wheelbase.
It remains a large car, a car, the company praises as the largest C-segment sedan that is available in this market, regardless of the type of powertrain. This is reflected that it is longer, wider and larger than the Proton S70, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla Altis and Mazda 3.
Elsewhere, other relevant numbers are a land space of 165 mm and a curb weight of 1,780 kg for the dynamic and 1,800 kg for the premium, probably the latter of the recording of a panoramic sun roof for the variant. Technical highlights mentioned on a presentation prior to the launch includes a high torsion rigidity of 31.167 Nm for the cell-to-body chassis of the car.
Design and equipment

In terms of styling, the origin of the dynasty series means that styling is closer to the Atto 2 and 3 instead of the sealing and sealion 7, where both the front and backwards were thrown differently. Firstly, the silver bar from the front of the front with the slim LED headlights and the bumper design give it a more traditional sedan look.
The Qin -name plate has been around since 2008 and has since sold more than 2.4 million models from September this year, including PHEV models. As far as the shape is to the eye, the seal is that little more rakish and sporty, but the suit of the seal 06, with a dynamic waist, remains sharp and will appeal to shoppers who are looking for a stylish, neatly presented sedan.
Both the dynamic and the premium look identical at a glance, but there are exterior signals that visually distinguish the premium. These are the aforementioned panoramic sliding roof (the front part can be opened instead of the fixed glass roof of the seal, and it also has a driven sun clean, according to the updated seal), and the 18-inch wheels that are wrapped with 225/50 profile Westlake Rubbers-it. In addition to not having a sunroof, the dynamics are shot with 17-inch alloy rollers, equipped with 225/55 series tires. It also does not have the front full LEDs of the premium.
Three outside colors are available for sealing 6, these are Arctic white, harbor gray and foggy blue, with the dynamics getting the first two shades and the premium the full set of three.
Powertrain, performance, battery and charging
The two seals 6 variants are rear -wheel drive, the company says it helps to offer the car a more premium sporty driving feeling. The single electric motor is an 8-in-1 unit, which integrates the engine, reduction controller, high-voltage controller, DC-DC converter, loading, electric distribution unit, vehicle control unit and thermal management system and a maximum of 16,000 rpm.
Motor outputs – and performance figures – are different for both variants, and they are:
- Dynamic – 129 PS (127 hp or 95 kW) and 220 Nm; 0-100 km/h in 10.9 seconds, 160 km/h Top speed
- Premium – 218 PS (215 hp or 160 kW) and 330 Nm; 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds, 180 km/h Top speed

Apart from this, the battery size is identical, with both variants for Malaysia equipped with a 56.64 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, the larger unit available for the car on the domestic market. In terms of the working range, it is rather interesting, because both the dynamic and premium-citaat the same range of 485 km Nedc-rated (about 410 km of WLTP), despite their different outputs.
In any case, the battery can be hunted with a maximum DC speed of 100 kW, in which it takes 23 minutes to get the unit of a state of 30% to 80%. With regard to type 2 AC cargo, the maximum speed is 6.67 kW, although there is vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality up to 3.7 kW.
The 12V starter battery of sealing 6 has been mentioned as an LFP unit-by 2.2 kg it is lighter than a conventional closed lead acid battery, but the real benefit is the higher load/discharge efficiency and, more importantly, the operational lifespan of the operational lifespan, which offers until 3,000.
The Seal 6 has a double ball-Joint Macpherson front and rear multi-link suspension setup, of which the car manufacturers say that a better handling and smoother, more stable turns on top offers better driving comfort. Especially in a scoop for BYD in Malaysia, the dampers are specifically tailored to local roads, which offer a firmer ride in the process.
Interior and equipment
In accordance with the theme of the dynasty, the Seal 6 has a cabin with a cleaner, less organic interior design, in which the dashboard is dominated by a flat, fully width of black panel with full width. It also dumps the seal 06 EV’s discreet gears in favor of the steering column mounted stem of the Atto 2. Also taken from the Atto 2 is the three -spoke steering wheel design. There is only one color scheme available for the interior, and this is in black and gray.
Standard fit items include an 8.8-inch digital instrument display and a Dilink 12.8-inch Infotainment touchscreen. In contrast to the domestic model (which also offers a larger 15.6-inch option), the central screen does not rotate and as such presents everything only in landscape or horizontal mode. The central console has a double space to save smartphones, with one lock with a 15 Watt Qi wireless charger.
The infotainment system offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Connectivity, and there is also a speech aid function, which support assignments in English, Malays, Cantonese and Mandarin. The car is also an internet connection package, consisting of 2 GB of data per month for a period of two years. Elsewhere, access to the car can be achieved via a physical NFC key card, a digital NFC/Bluetooth key or via the BYD Digital app.
The seating element was also emphasized, stating the high level of comfort supplied by the seats, which are finished in Faux Eco-Leer. The forces are supplied with a raised level of lateral support and attention has also been paid to the rear sofas, with the 60:40 split backseats with a more sloping design to improve the ergonomics and comfort for residents.
There are some differences in equipment specifications between the variants. Firstly, the front seats on the Dynamic Six road power are adjustable for the driver and the manual for the front passenger, the premium is supplied with eight-way driver and four-way passengers driven units, as well as ventilation for both units.
Moreover, the audio system on the dynamics consists of a set -up of six speakers, while the premium increases this to eight speakers. There is also a sunglasses holder, LED -Voordeur lighting, front footwell lighting and cabin environmental lighting, which is not available for the dynamics. With regard to the cargo space, the Seal 6 has a 460-liter boot and a 65-liter Frunk, which is deep enough to fit a luggage the size of a hut.
The seal 6 is equipped with six airbags (front, front and front/rear side curtain), front/rear parking sensors, a 360 -degree display monitor and a tire pressure monitoring system. Regarding the ADAS Suite, available items are automatic emergency brake (AEB), Stop/Go Adaptive Cruise Control, lane expulsion warning and in the front collision warning, the car is also equipped with a braking listing system and intelligent high -radical clay
