Buying and Selling Dynasty: Week 12 (Trades)

Buying and Selling Dynasty: Week 12 (Trades)

This week I’ll continue the theme as the trade deadline draws even closer. Most leagues closed trading on November 17, so I had to make the right decisions quickly before the window closed. This is the part of the season where smart managers start shaping their rosters for both the play-offs and the long game. Every move matters in the moment, and the best trades are usually the ones you make before everyone else sees them coming. I’ve been rebuilding my Dynasty roster while staying competitive in my C2C leagues, making sure every move aligns with where I want my teams to be. My goal is always to help you discover value, think ahead and make confident decisions in your own competitions. Light that cigar, pour yourself a bourbon and let’s dive into this week’s trades. Win now, brag later.

Trade Analysis #1

I’ve moved NFL best bets Ashton Jeanty and George Pickens for Kaytron Allen, Denzel Boston, Elijah Arroyo, Jaylin Noel, an additional 2026 first-round pick and an additional 2026 third-round pick. On the surface, it seems like a big trade, as Jeanty is one of the great young running backs across all formats, and Pickens can show a high ceiling each week. In return, I have brought in a full package of younger players and two additional picks that will give me more flexibility and long-term control over my roster. This is exactly the kind of deal that excites me because it allows me to reshape my team while still retaining a lot of upside.

In short, Jeanty carried most of the value in this deal. He’s an elite RB and the kind of player who can carry a lineup. Pickens adds some pop and NFL Props, but also comes with week-to-week volatility. On the other hand, Kaytron Allen gives me a reliable C2C running back with a true NFL path and steady production. Denzel Boston is a productive college receiver who continues to grow and add future value to both the C2C and Dynasty sides. Elijah Arroyo is a premium stash tight end who could develop into a starter, and Jaylin Noel gives me the needed wide receiver depth with some NFL tools. The two additional picks are also important because a first and a third give me future flexibility to add talent or use them in future trades.

The verdict is simple. This trade hits the fairness window perfectly and leaves me better prepared in the long run. I have converted two big names into a balanced rebuilding package with youth, advantage, depth and future choices. These are the trades that will keep your selection fresh and competitive for years to come. It’s another example of staying aggressive, making smart moves and building a squad that can win in the long run.

Trade Analysis #2

I moved DK Metcalf for Emmett Johnson, Cooper Barkate, and an additional 2026 first-round pick. This is one of those trades that reminds me why I love playing C2C. You can turn one big NFL name into multiple high-end campus producers and a premium future pick, and that’s exactly what happened here. Metcalf is undoubtedly a strong NFL receiver, but in C2C you always have to compare what a player gives you on the campus side and what you can gain in the long run.

Looking at the numbers on my sheet, Emmett Johnson and Cooper Barkate are both top campus producers with huge swings in value on the college side. They now give me points and a real runway for future Dynasty impact. Johnson is a workhorse and one of the safest running backs on the campus side of my frame. Barkate is a big weapon who provides steady production and NFL traits. Adding an additional 2026 first-round pick on top of both gives me an additional piece to help shape my roster next year, whether I use the pick or flip it in another deal. Metcalf is still a strong NFL wideout, but his value in a mixed C2C build doesn’t match the combined impact of what I brought in.

The verdict couldn’t be clearer. This is a huge win for my squad and fits perfectly with how I like to build for the long term. Getting two top campus players and a first on top of that for an aging NFL receiver is the kind of move that keeps me competitive now and positions me to win later. These are the trades that get me excited because they stack value on both sides of the format and move my roster forward year after year.

Trade Analysis #3

I moved Patrick Mahomes and Al Jay Henderson for Husan Longstreet, Carnell Tate and an additional 2026 first-round pick. Trading Mahomes is something most people would never consider, but if you’re building for the long term in C2C, you have to be willing to make bold moves. Mahomes is a superstar, but Al Jay was a senior I still dropped. This deal gave me the opportunity to turn one elite NFL piece into two of the best young Devy players in the country, plus a first for the future. That’s exactly the kind of trade that gets me excited because it completely reshapes the future of my roster.

In short, Husan Longstreet is one of the best young quarterback prospects in the country, and even though he hasn’t taken over as a full-time starter yet, the talent and long-term upside are obvious. He’s the kind of player you save early in C2C because once he gets the job, the runway and future value can rise quickly. Carnell Tate is a wide receiver with all the makings of now becoming a future NFL star and a weekly producer on the campus side. Adding an additional 2026 first-round pick on top of those two gives me another big swing next year, whether I use it on a player or in a larger trade. Moving Mahomes is never easy, but if you can bring back a potential future NFL starting quarterback, a future NFL wideout and a first-round pick, the long-term picture becomes a lot clearer.

The verdict is simple. This deal gives me youth, upside and future flexibility across the board. I have created several young building blocks from one elite piece that will allow me to win for years to come. These are the transactions that move a squad forward. They keep me competitive on the campus side and ensure I get future NFL talent that will ultimately anchor my Dynasty lineup. It’s the kind of move that makes rebuilding fun and keeps the long-term window wide open.

Close

With the trade deadline finally closed in most leagues, I was able to log a total of six trades, and I covered three this week. I’ll discuss the other three next week. The C2C Playoffs have already started and the NFL Playoffs will be here sooner than we think, so every move matters from this point on. As we get closer to the finish line, the goal remains the same. When you push for a championship, you sharpen your roster and give yourself the best path through weeks 15 through 17. When you’re rebuilding, you stay active and continue to stack pieces that will move your team forward in the long run. Whatever direction your team takes, stay ready, keep working in the marketplace, and never stop looking for ways to improve.
