Busan Friday: Race-by-Race Preview (November 21)

The race weekend starts on Friday in Busan with 9 races from 11:15 AM to 6:00 PM. Here are the previews:

Busan Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A/KRW 45 million

Junior girls where three out of ten are racing for the first time. (6) WORLD FIGHTER MAN made several attempts to participate in the races but performed well on his debut at this distance on November 2^i.e arrange midfield and pass for 3^rd in a good time. He should have come in and he can win here. (2) JOY OF QUEEN was a solid 2^i.e upon debut on October 24^eracing at pace over this distance. It was a slow race, but he showed a lot of promise and a good draw and some natural improvement allowed him to go one step further. (10) STRONG WINNER was 2^i.e in a fast trial and although he has the challenge of the widest gate, he looks the best of the first timers. (8) SUNGAN POWER and newcomer (5) FAPPI BABE others who could be in the mix.

Busan Race 2: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A/KRW 30 million

Only mares in this girl with four firsts. (12) LAMPYOJEONGGEENIE turned 4^e on debut in September and followed by 3^rd at the start of number two on October 24^e when she led over this distance. She has to deal with the widest gate here, but she can peak at third place. (8) WORLD EAGLE CAT has shown promise in three starts so far, with the best 3^rd airs on September 19 on 1000M^e. She followed with 4^e on her first attempt at this distance on October 24^ebeating some of today’s rivals, and she will be a threat here. (11) WIN GATE did nothing in three starts until June, but since then she has completed two trials, winning one and running two^i.e in the other and she gets a new start today. Kim Hye-sin ends her riding career with (3) PERFECT FLASH and the filly she will train may well do it first. (2) BORYEONG ONE ROAD another that can improve.

Busan Race 3: Handicap Class 6 (1600M) / KRW 30 million

(5) SEOBU GAMBLE has come closer and closer in seven starts so far, culminating in a 2^i.e place above 1400M on November 9^e if you come from way off the pace. He was 4^e on an earlier attempt at a mile, and he could be ready to win here. He will have to destroy the form on (4) SOMANGUIGIL. He walked 3^rd to Seobu Gamble’s 4^e in that mile race which was on October 19th^e. He has 3 ready^rd or 4^e in each of his five starts so far and should be back on pace and in the mix. (8) STAY COOL comes out to a 2^i.e and a 4^e of her last two, both times on pace. She is stretching herself on her journey here and would have a long way to go. (11) OASIS ADELE and (2) NEVERSTOP HEEMANG among many other place opportunities.

Busan Race 4: Handicap Class 5 (1400M) / KRW 45 million

(12) DOCTOR LOUIS walked out of class last time and got a very good 4^e place over this distance. He returns in class 5 where he has a win and a 3^rd instead of his two most recent efforts and while that means he has a big weight on his back, he has every chance. (4) UNJU MAGIC took his first win at start four over 1300M in October before taking his chance in the Juvenile Listed company a few weeks later, where he didn’t run badly at all. Back in friendlier company and under a light weight, he can be competitive. (8) BIGBANG CLASS was a major prize class and distance winner on October 19^eracing at pace and beating some of today’s rivals in the process. He weighs 3.5 kg, but he deserves respect here. (11) BREDO KELLY and (1) DAEGIL HERO others on the hunt.

Busan Race 5: Handicap Class 5 (1800M) / KRW 45 million

(8) FORCE BE WITH YOU came off the pace to beat several of today’s rivals when 2^i.e to Doctor Chris during this class and distance on October 24th^e. He comes in at almost the same weight, he pulls the same gate, and he can go one step better today. (2) AMAZING ONE broke through on November 11 at start six over 1300M^e be done with 5^e of ten in the Rookie Stakes in August. He moves up in class here and has significant progress, but he’s lighter, Seo Seung-un stays on and he could be a danger. (7) SEATTLE DREAM is similarly higher in class after a first win, in her case on the eighth time of asking, but by a mile. Her style must suit the longer distances, and she also loses 3 kg for the first time with Munro on board. (3) ALICE MARINE and (6) GEUMA REJOICE, 3^rd and 5^e behind Force Be With You on October 24^ein addition to numerous other money opportunities.

Busan Race 6: Handicap Class 5 (1200M) / KRW 45 million

(9) GEUMA ADEPT was a strong winner in its debut above 1000 million in September, before finishing last of eight in the listed youth company in October. We’ll draw a line through it: this is a much easier assignment, and he’s the one who needs to be defeated. (3) SONGJEONG TODAY was an absolute winner when it debuted over 1000 million on September 5^e. It wasn’t a fast race and he has had eleven weeks off since then, but in this modest company he should be able to measure up. The shape of the rest is fragmentary. (8) HANEUL POKPUNG was lackluster from the widest fence last time, but did well before that and can get another chance here. (11) SIX HERO and (4) CHOEGANG LOUIS are others that are better than their respective last efforts.

Busan Race 7: Handicap Class 4 (1200M) / KRW 60 million

(6) CLUTCH WINNER was supposed to be running around a youthful public company last week, but unfortunately there wasn’t enough youthful public company willing to take him on and the race was canceled. He’s coming here instead, and he’ll be a very short-lived prize favorite due to his outright debut win. In a student claim, (5) SPEED TOP may be the greatest danger. He has finished in the top two in six of seven attempts at this distance and the weight should be back there or around there. (8) DOCTOR KAREN was class and distance winner on October 31^stcompletely leading. She weighs 3.5 kg, but Seo Sung-un is competing for the first time and she could be close. (3) NAKDONG MYEONGJAK and quick trial winner (11) CHATS KHAN others to consider for the minors.

Busan Race 8: Handicap Class 3 (1600M) / KRW 75 million

(1) NICE BUDDY has won his last three, taking him to four out of seven in total, most recently in this class over 1400M on October 24^e when he led all the way. He’s moving up 7lbs for the first time and hitting the mile for the first time, but neither should be a problem and he should win again. (6) WONDERFUL BIDDER got a bit far back last time before going through for his second straight 4^e place in this class and distance. He is a two-time winner over a mile and can challenge. He will have to destroy the form of (11) AMAZING KHAN, who was 2^i.e to Wonderful Bidder’s 4^e on October 19^e. He also has a solid record for the mile and although he is once again struggling with a big weight, he should be back in the mix. These three will fill almost all the trio tickets, with perhaps (3) AKARAKA and – further back – (7) DANGDAE STAR making an odd appearance.

Busan Race 9: Handicap Class 2 (1400M) / KRW 90 million

A very competitive final. We’re taking a chance on (5) BATTLE CRY, who struggled in G3 company at this distance on October 26^e when drawn into a wide gate. Before that he was a smart winner at Grade 3 level and reasonably weighted and better drawn, he has as good a chance as anyone. (6) FLYING KHAN has worked his way back to another win, most recently with 2^i.e more than 1800 million as of October 31^st when he led from gate to wire. He’s higher up in his class and the 1400m hasn’t been his best distance – even though he places two starts back – but he’s lost 4kg and is a danger. (3) BINNANEUNGIL is a model of consistency and 1400M is certainly his choice. He loves to sit back and run on, and he should be around there or there again. (4) POWER SOUND and (1) FLYING ACE and many more who can have their say.
