From drafting assistant to orchestrated workflow: how J&Y Law redesigned the filing pipeline
When Rothbaum joined J&Y Law, she quickly realized that the firm’s rapid growth in personal injury cases required a more intelligent and consistent process. With a workforce of around 100 employees and an ambition to scale, the company needed a way to manage high volumes of cases without sacrificing accuracy or human oversight. Her background in business growth and IT leadership helped her see an architecture emerge within the company’s systems.
According to Rothbaum, the workflow for personal injury cases consists of a sequence of closely linked phases: marketing, intake, pre-litigation, claim, settlement, negotiation and – if necessary – litigation. Each step generates critical data that must be captured, structured, and then reused downstream. To support that flow, platform for legal operations Illuminated functions as the base CRM and “helps connect the dots for the case pipeline.”
On top of Litify, the company has specialized AI tools. Agentic AI and bots help during intake, listening to conversations, reviewing written and verbal communications, and identifying early ‘nuggets’ of information that could later impact liability or strength of the case. Another AI platform, AI Foundationrecords documents and archives them in the CRM.
