More than 14.6 million Malaysians have received subsidized RON 95 petrol under the Budi Madani RON 95 (Budi95) program since Feb 11, Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan has revealed, according to a Named report. The system currently processes an average of 3.1 million transactions per day (it can process 43.2 million transactions).
“Through Budi95, the public will receive RON 95 at RM1.99 per liter directly at the pump, without the need for new registration or complicated procedures. Using MyKad as an eligibility verification mechanism for targeted subsidies has proven effective and practical,” Amir Hamzah said in Parliament today, adding that it also reduces leakages to non-citizens.
According to another Named According to the report, Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said yesterday that Budi95 is expected to save at least RM2.5 billion this year, depending on movements in global crude oil prices and exchange rates. He revealed in December that the government has saved RM800 million since the program started on September 30, 2025.
