The 2025-26 season of Boston University Hen’s Hockey Team is largely defined by 10 days at the end of January and the beginning of February.
How is this a glove? Arch-rival Boston College for a standing matchup in Agganis Arena on January 30, then northeastern in TD Garden for the Beanpot semi-final Three days later, then defensive Hockey East Champion Maine at home in the Beanpot Trap match earlier, possibly the Beanpot final (probably again versus BC) on 9 February.
After that, it is not that February will become much easier. Two weeks after the Beanpot, BU plays his annual home and home series against the Eagles in his last weekend set of the year. At the end of January and February is always the highlight of a regular season for the Hockey of Bu-Maar in 2025-26 it could not be much more difficult.
The start of the season is friendlier, with the terriers who play their first seven games at home from 4 October against Liu, but the homestide still contains a series against Michigan State. And once it’s over, Buy dives straight into Hockey East Play.
The full demolition of 2025-26 schedule for Bu Herenhockey:
The schedule
The biggest games to watch
Vs. Michigan State, October 17 and October 18
The striking non-conference series of last season was also in Agganis Arena, also in October, also against a Big Ten Power from Michigan … and it was not great, with Bu Imploded in the opener against the Wolverines before he lost the final in the extension. That turned out to be the lowest point of a rough start of the year, and things got better from there.
Still, head coach Jay Pandolfo and Co. Avoid that fate against Michigan State in 2025-26. But the Spartans, the reigning Big Ten champions, will be an even more difficult test. Reigning Hobey Baker Award winner Issac Howard has disappeared, but he is being replaced by Porter Martone, Cayden Lindstrom and Ryker Lee-All Picks from the first round of the last two NHL concepts. And for a BU team that will be more talented, but even younger and less experienced than last season, MSU will be a meaningful measuring stick.
Vs. UConn, October 24 and October 25
Super interesting kick -off to BU’s Hockey East schedule here. The Terriers also played their first league match against the Huskies last season and left with a frustrating 4-2 independent victory at Agganis.
That was when everyone thought UConn would be in the basement of Hockey East. The Husky’s were not. They defeated BU in the semi -final of the hockey in March, after which Jay Pandolfo was furious with the performance of the terriers. UConn played a style that gave Bu problems all three times, the teams agreed last year – if this series goes well for the terriers at the end of October, it will be a big sign of growth.
Vs. Cornell, Red Hot Hockey, November 29 (in Madison Square Garden)
Red hot hockey is always fun; For many of the players it is their first time it plays in the Mecca. But in 2025-26 it will be demonstrable BUs on a Naste non-conference test and a rematch of the NCAA Regional final of last year.
Cornell enters a world of Mike Schafer, so it’s hard to know what the Big Red will look like. But if it looks like the slow, hyper-physical brand of Schafer, the defending ECAC champions will be a challenge.
Vs. Boston College, January 30
Does anyone remember BU’s last independent matchup with BC? When the terriers admit nine Goals on Conte Forum For a team that ended eighth in the competition?
Was not great, but again, none of BU’s non-Beanpot-Matchups with the Eagles has gone well lately. The terriers are 0-4 in such games in the last two seasons, but in 2025-26 they get an extra crack of their hated rivals. BC, which was voted in fifth place in the poll of the Hockey East for the season, is not projecting as well this season as the previous two.
Vs. Maine, February 6
This is a fascinating one. The match between every Beanpot Monday is always difficult, but it has at least been against humble Merrimack against the last two years.
This year? Defensive competition champion Maine. That is a huge game that is independent of the Beanpot schedule, but with this context? This matchup at Agganis will not be a meaningful test of how BU corresponds to the black bears on the ice, but how a young and ultra-talented group can keep his focus on the beanpot for what is likely to be a huge game in the Hockey East classification.
Other games to pay attention
At/vs. Northeastern, November 21 and November 22
Not the best time to plan one of BU’s two rivalry series of the year – the weekend before Thanksgiving – break – but the huskies love miserable starts with the season, so it can benefit the terriers. Not that it has now been in recent years at some point of the season (next to the Beanpot).
But it is still northeast, so it is automatically a crucial part of the schedule. And to be honest for the huskies, they always play Bu Tough-Ze in each of the last six seasons have taken a regular season, non-Beanpot game from BU (excluding 2020), even though they end up in hockey East in one of them in Hockey East.
On Quinnipiac, November 15
Two seasons After the Bobcats had won their first national championship, Rand Peckknold’s program is not as dominant as they ever were. Nevertheless, Quinnipiac won 24 games in 2024-25 and took the ECAC regular seasonal title before he lost UConn in the first round of NCAAS.
This trip from the mid -November to Hamden, Con. Is a legitimate test for BU; Undoubtedly the second-toughest of the terriers in non-conference game. It is the type of game that will also have pair -wise implications.
