Besides ETC, today’s other notable winners include FIL, NEAR and ARB.
Bitcoin’s price felt some volatility after yesterday’s developments on the rates front, but eventually recovered from the dip and is now around $68,000.
Most large-cap alts are currently posting small gains, while DOT, UNI and NEAR have emerged as the top performers from this cohort of assets.
BTC above $68K
The primary cryptocurrency rose unexpectedly last weekend after defending the $65,000 support. The bulls fueled a surge that pushed the value to nearly $71,000 for the first time in about a week. However, that was another short-lived effort, and BTC quickly began to lose value during the business week.
On Monday it was stopped again at $70,000, and the following days brought even more pain. The culmination occurred on Thursday when the bears pushed Bitcoin to $65,600. The response at this point was positive and quickly recovered at three thousand dollars.
There was even more volatility on Friday after the US Supreme Court ruled that some of Trump’s tariffs were illegal. The POTUS responded immediately and imposed an additional 10% global tariff on top of existing tariffs. BTC dropped $2,000 within minutes, but recovered just as quickly and is now trading above $68,000 again.
Its market cap has soared above $1.360 trillion, while its dominance over alts on CG is almost 56.5%.
ETC pumps
ETH, XRP, SOL and TRX have all posted small gains of less than 1% per day. As a result, Ethereum continues to struggle below $2,000, while XRP is nearing $1.45. BCH and HYPE have posted more impressive gains at the larger caps.
Even more impressive price increases come from DOT, UNI and NEAR, with gains of up to 8% in the case of Near Protocol’s native token. Nevertheless, Ethereum Classic is up the most today, exploding 16% to $9.7. FIL and ARB are following suit.
The total crypto market cap has reclaimed the $2.4 trillion mark on CG and has risen to $2.415 trillion at the time of writing.
