On Sunday Night Football in Week 13 of the 2025 NFL season, the Denver Broncos will take on the Washington Commanders. Denver moves to the AFC West title at 9-2. The story was much different for Washington, which has a 3-8 record.
Let’s dive into my Broncos vs. Commanders predictions dive.
Denver Broncos vs Washington Commanders Odds
Moneyline: Broncos -310 / Commanders +250
Spread: Broncos -6 (-110) / Commanders +6 (-110)
Total: Over 43.5 (-110) / Under 43.5 (-115)
Denver Broncos vs. Washington Commanders Best Bet No. 1: Broncos -6 (-110)
Washington advanced all the way to the NFC Championship game last season. Well, 2024 isn’t walking through that door. Because expectations at the beginning of this year were much higher than last year, the Commanders have imploded. Injuries didn’t help. Running back Austin Ekeler suffered a torn Achilles tendon in Week 2, quarterback Jayden Daniels has missed much of the 2025 season and the defense is in turmoil. Daniels has been ruled out Sunday due to a dislocated left elbow. Marcus Mariota certainly isn’t the worst backup in the league, but he doesn’t inspire much confidence either, especially against one of the NFL’s best defenses in Denver. Not only are the commanders 3-8 SU, but they are also 3-8 ATS. A new loss versus the spread is likely lurking.
That also has a lot to do with the opponent, because Denver has played pretty much excellent football all year. Head coach Sean Payton’s team is on an eight-game winning streak. It ranks third in scoring defense — limiting opponents to 17.5 points per game — and ranks in the top five in virtually every major defensive metric. Star cornerback Pat Surtain II is set to return after missing three games with a partially torn pec, so that’s a huge boost for the Broncos. After all, Surtain is the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
Denver Broncos vs. Washington Commaders Best Player Prop Bet: Bo Nix Over 222.5 passing yards (-110)
Nix has exceeded this quota of 222.5 – and with room to spare – in five of the last eight games. During those five productive outings, he threw for at least 242 yards, including one 326-yard performance against Cincinnati. Nix last torched Kansas City for 295 yards in Week 11.
The Oregon product could have an even bigger night, at the Commanders’ expense. Washington’s passing defense is terrible. It is No. 29 in the league in that department, allowing 249.5 yards per game. Head coach Dan Quinn’s team ranks last in yards per pass attempt allowed, at 8.8. The Commanders are also No. 31 in the NFL in overall defensive EPA.
