A first-floor pool that glows over the walkway below is just one of the striking features of this bayside showstopper.

Imagine spending three years and more than $10 million creating your forever home – and then never actually living in it?

For builder Thomas Caia and his wife Kalia, the decision to sell their dream in Melbourne’s bayside suburb of Brighton was painful. But after years of bringing their vision to life, Mr Caia’s growing businesses are bringing the couple to Sydney.

“The hours put into this build are incredible. For three years there were 20 tradesmen on site every day. Then it took me another two years to make the decision to sell,” Mr Caia said.

“Now we just hope the house finds a family who really appreciates the quality here. This is not your average house; it has a soul. Every room is perfectly formed and every space flows together perfectly. No expense has been spared and no detail has been overlooked. There is so much passion and pride here.”

This four-bedroom, five-bathroom stunner from Martin Friedrich Architects – at an unpublished address – is a triumph of design, luxury and engineering.

Sleek, white and boldly modern, the tone is set from the moment you enter the house, where light shimmers through a magnesium pool hanging above the entrance.

Spanning 1,045 m² over three levels, connected by a sculptural spiral staircase and elevator, the residence is anchored by three opulent living zones that open onto stylish open-air terraces and landscaped gardens.

Inside, every element exudes craftsmanship: the kitchen is equipped with Gaggenau appliances, the bathrooms feature monolithic bathtubs, while European oak joinery throughout adds warmth. Even the plasterwork was entrusted to a 90-year-old Italian craftsman who was flown in to perfect the finish.

“Everything is designed and crafted like a work of art,” says agent Taylor Dow of Dow Real Estate. “The level of detail and authenticity is extraordinary.”

The home’s amenities resemble a private resort: a gym, yoga studio, steam room and Himalayan sauna, plus a 500-plus bottle wine cellar with a custom Vino Pin display and a private kitchen. A roof terrace crowns the whole and offers beautiful views of Brighton Beach, the city skyline and the Mornington Peninsula.

“It’s calm, soothing and incredibly elegant,” Mr Caia said. “The design ensures that a family has everything they could ever need under one roof.”

Other highlights include a 20mm thick stone floor with underfloor heating, a basement garage for eight cars and a Control4 home automation system with integrated surveillance and mobile access.

Mr Dow said the property, just a stone’s throw from Brighton Beach, is a highlight.

“I’ve sold thousands of properties and it’s the best home quality-wise I’ve ever walked through. The inclusions are second to none and every moment inside offers something breathtaking. It’s the kind of home most people only dream of.”

While the wider Victorian market may not be booming, Dow says exceptional homes will always attract interest.

‘The buyer will probably be someone who is not actively looking, but who recognizes the caliber of the build and falls in love with it. Replicating it today would be virtually impossible – the cost and time simply wouldn’t add up.

“The right buyer is someone who really understands the quality here.”
