LEXINGTON, Ky. – Breeders’ Cup Limited today announced the broadcast schedule and post times for the 42nd edition of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships, scheduled for October 31 – November. 1 at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club in Del Mar, California. This year’s coverage will deliver an unprecedented viewing experience across multiple screens and platforms, reaching fans where and how they want to watch.
The 2025 World Championships will once again feature 14 Class 1 races and more than $34 million in prize money and prizes, bringing together the sport’s best horses, owners, breeders, trainers and jockeys on racing’s biggest stage. Del Mar, “Where the Turf Meets the Surf” on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, will host the Breeders’ Cup for the fourth time, following a record 2024 edition that set a new global wagering benchmark of $203.7 million and welcomed 61 international contenders, the most in Breeders’ Cup history.
To best serve the different fan segments, the Breeders’ Cup will once again offer two different live broadcasts, each tailored to deliver the right content on the platforms fans prefer. The organization’s robust social media channels will enhance the viewing experience, allowing viewers to watch all races live, access highlights and interact in real time across platforms.
During the two-day festival, NBC Sports will produce more than 10 hours of world-class racing coverage, broadcast live on NBC, USA Network and Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming service. Programming is anchored by a 3.5-hour NBC broadcast on Saturdays (3:30-7:00 p.m. ET), featuring the $7 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic in addition to four other championship races. The Classic is starting to develop into a true international showdown, with last year’s top three finishers taking part – Sierra Leone, Fierceness and Japanese star Forever Young (JPN) – in addition to Kentucky Derby (G1), Belmont (G1), and Travers (G1) winner Sovereignty and Preakness (G1) and Haskell (G1) winner Journalism.

Complementing NBC Sports broadcasts, FanDuel TV will provide ongoing live coverage of every championship and undercard race Breeders’ Cup Players Showavailable on FanDuel TV, BreedersCup.comthe official Breeders’ Cup mobile app, all major ADW platforms and simulcast channels worldwide.
As part of a comprehensive live distribution strategy, the Players show will also be streamed via the official Breeders’ Cup YouTube, Facebook and X channels, providing real-time access for digital-first and global audiences. NBC’s live coverage of all 14 championship races will also be streamed live on Peacock.

This year’s strategy reflects a trend seen at other leading sporting events: the convergence of television broadcasting, streaming and social media to engage different fan segments across multiple touchpoints. Breeders’ Cup leverages this shift to give both long-time fans and new viewers seamless access to the most prestigious global racing event – live, wherever they watch – and to drive global betting on the event.

The 2025 World Championships will also be broadcast to more than 180 countries around the world, with live coverage on ITV4, Sky Sports Racing and Racing TV in the UK, Virgin Media in Ireland, ESPN in Latin America, Green Channel, Abema TV and Netkeiba in Japan, Sportsnet in Canada, SuperSport across Africa, FanCode in India and more. Final details on international coverage will be announced in the coming weeks.

Race order and post times are subject to change. The final official race order and post times for the 2025 World Championships will be announced on October 22.
