The Atlanta Braves today started their schedule outside season with the announcement that five players have been downright against Triple-A. With 10 players in the 60-day IL when the season ended, the organization has to take extra steps to open places on the 40-man schedule.
The most striking name on this list is Outfielder Jarred Kelenic, who spent most of the 2024 season as the starting left field player of the Braves. He struggled with Atlanta early this season and then spent most of the year in Triple-A, where the struggles of the former top 10 prospect went through.
Luke Williams spends most of the year with Atlanta as the 26th man of the team, mainly as a Pinch runner, defensive replacement and an effective position player world. He came to Atlanta in 2023 and appeared in the big competitions with the team in every season. He posted a 0 WRC+last season.
Sandy Leon made a few cameies with the Braves after 2024 to spent on Triple-A. The old big league-back-up catcher is well prepared by the organization and did Homer with Atlanta in his limited time.
Right -handed pitchers Alexis Diaz and Dane Dunning have both joined Atlanta as an exemption. Diaz had a success as a closer in his career and Dunning started more than 100 games since debuting in 2020. Both struggled in limited performances with Atlanta.
All five players were passed by the distance of the exemptions before they were assigned to Gwinnett.
