One Mets rival had a busy Wednesday night.
The Braves signed Raisel Iglesias to a one-year, $16 million contract and an hour later acquired utility man Mauricio Dubon in a trade with the Astros, the team announced.
Atlanta sent infielder Nick Allen to Houston to complete the trade.
Iglesias, 35, had spent the past three and a half seasons in Atlanta and provided the Braves with consistent back-end relief pitching.
The right-hander has a 2.35 ERA and 0.94 WHIP with 239 strikeouts and 97 saves in 222 appearances since a trade from the Angels in August 2022. He had a 3.21 ERA and 29 saves in 2025.
Iglesias was considered one of the best relievers to hit free agency this year, and by bringing him back the Braves strengthened their bullpen.
Dubon is coming off a season in Houston in which he captured his second career Gold Glove award, becoming the second American Leaguer to earn the utility man’s honor.
At the plate, he hit .241/.289/.355 with seven home runs and 33 RBIs.
Allen had a .535 OPS in 135 games for the Braves last year, playing mostly shortstop.

The Braves are hoping to recapture some magic after finishing in fourth place in the NL East with a 76-86 record and snapping a streak of seven straight years in the postseason.
They will have a new face in the dugout next season, with Walt Weiss taking over as manager after veteran skipper Brian Snitker announced he would not be returning.
