Braves at Rangers Series Recap: Nadir

6 minutes, 19 seconds Read

There is a series that stays in my mind when I think of the season that directly led to the most recent rebuilding of Atlanta Braves that led to this current era in which they are located. I will never forget it because it happened during my first season of writing here on this beautiful blog. It was September 2014 and it was clear that the Braves shuffled and had to find out if they even wanted a glimpse of hope to make the late season that year. Eventually they took a road trip to Arlington to start a Texas Rangers team that seemed to be dead in the water.

It turned out that it was the Braves who were the Walking Dead. Texas wiped them, the Braves stumbled for the rest of September and by the time that the opening day 2015 rolled around, a new era was going on. The good news for the Braves is that I don’t think they will completely break it down as soon as the low season is walking around. Things will certainly be different (they must be different) here as soon as the opening day 2026 rolls around and there is still a little hope that the core of this team can eventually return to form as a unit. The bad news is that buddy, this is rough To look. That terrible sweep from 2014 took place in any case in September – we have just over two months left, all of you. There are some positive points to come later, but let’s take the medicine for now and look back on how this series went.

Friday, July 25
Rangers 8, Braves 3

Joey Wentz went to the hill for the first five innings of this and he gave up at least one point in four of those innings with three of those who were earned. In the meantime, Nathan Eovaldi had little to no problems dealing with the Braves while he was there, because this was one of those patented six-to-do-in-the inning documents completely nothing on the album for the Braves. Eovaldi threw five shutout -innings and then Jacob Webb made the six scoreless innings for the Braves.

Michael Harris II hit a dinger to break the drought in the seventh and then he scored one of the two points for the Braves in the ninth inning. By that time, the match was good for Texas after they had beat Rafael Montero four points in the eighth inning. Bla.

Saturday July 26
Rangers 6, Braves 5

The Braves had a head start in this! It took only one inning, it was at the start of the game and on typical Braves manner they should have scored more points, but they had a lead! Ozzie Albies rode in Jurickson Profar and Matt Olson inexplicably a “sending” call to go home on the play and a mile was thrown away after the referee initially ruled that Olson got under the tag. That was as good as it received for the Braves in this, because the Rangers soon took control by scoring four points about four innings against Grant Holmes.

Unfortunately this is probably the last time we see Holmes on the hill for a long time. Before he was hit by a line ride, Holmes already complained about elbow pain and from this evening he will be on the 60-day IL with elbow inflammation. It is again a heavy blow to a rotation that was absolutely destroyed by an injury.

The Braves, however, kept around and participated in this. In the end Michael Harris II hit his second homer of the series to bind the game on four points each. Money Mike went off in this competition, while collecting four hits in the night – a Homer, two Doubles and a triple!

The game remained 4-4 on the way to extra innings and despite the fact that Olson took the third one with one, the Braves could not cash it in. Twee slagmensen in Texas’s helft van de tiende, Marcus Semien (die in de wedstrijd bleef ondanks het feit dat hij in het hoofd werd geraakt in het hoofd met een pitch door Grant Holmes eerder op de wedstrijd eerder op de wedstrijd) leverde de walk-off hit de walk-off hit de walk-off hit de walk-off hit de walk-off hit de walk-off hit de walk-off hit die de Braves in een Longer line was hit by a pitch by a pitch by a pitch by Grant Holmes earlier at the game earlier, earlier at the game in the game, the Walk-off hit that was hit in a long line with a pitch by a pitch by Grant Holmes earlier on the game in a long line in a line that De Walk-Off Hit was hit.

Sunday July 27
Rangers 8, Braves 1

This one was over after three innings. Bryce Elder got the ball for this and this was an absolutely horrible start to him. He walked four batters, he gave up six hits and gave eight points – all in 2.2 innings work! This was an absolutely terrible version, with the only light place that Sean Murphy’s RBI Ground-Rule Double was completely back in the second inning and then the bullpen held the rangers of the scoreboard while they were there. That was it, however. The Braves suffered a sweep in a series where they have never really got a serious foot. Yikes!

Well, the good news is that Michael Harris II is currently in the middle of what is quite easy this season. I let Djourn tell you more about it in his post in which Money Mike took our extremely prestigious and world -famous Power Atlanta Braves Player of the Week Award home.

I’m probably going to cook for this (especially afterwards this incident From Friday with Spencer Strider) but Tim Hyers earns a lot of praise because he ultimately helps Mike to find out. It is clear that they have worked hard to find out how they can repair his swing and it certainly looks like they have found a solution. If this is ultimately training, we might see Harris end up in a strong tone this season and give everyone hope for 2026 and afterwards.

What else can you say outside? It is another pity about a series in a season that is full for the Braves. As Absincewayback said yesterday, it is now about to be disguised atlanta this season, a blessing can become if they end up bad enough for the trekking lottery. As you will see during this coming week, the Atlanta farm system is in a bad, bad way and although it will simply have a high draw position, it will not guarantee an organizational turnaround, it would certainly give the Braves an excellent opportunity to give their agricultural system a nice little boost.

That is a section that I never expected this season at any time, but here we are! The Braves are bad enough to where the trekking lottery is a real opportunity for them, they are now on zero (0) starting pitchers who stay from the opening day, the attack is consistently inconsistent and the frustration under the club starts to be extremely felt. Only 58 games left to go, all of you.
