Braves are blasted in loss of 9-2

Looking for even the series against the Mets, had the Braves Cal Quantrill on the hill against Clay Holmes, in a fairly impressive pitching -matchup.

Quantrill did not inspire much faith in a scoreless first, with a walk, a single and a hard hit for the third. Holmes did not have such a problem in a 1-2-3 first for New York. After a quiet second from both offenses, Quantrill first blinked in the third, with a single, a walk and a two-out three-run Homer to Jeff McNeil. He only took the third after another single and walk, because the Mets now gave a 3-0 lead in the third inning. Nacho was the first Baserunner of Braves with a double in the third, but did not come to score.

Successive walks to Olson and Acuna have set up any danger to Atlanta in the fourth. Michael Harris got rid of himself, but the Mets tried to get Acuna in second place, but were safely ruled for assessment. A deep ozuna bag and a Baldwin -groundout brought home two runs, so that the lead from the Mets was cut to one point. Cal Quantrill left with two out in the fifth, due to calf cramps. Three points on 4.2 innings is not bad for Kantrill, but a walk per inning with his profile will only end in a disaster if it becomes a trend. Tyler Kinley took over and finished the fifth and also completed a scoreless sixth. The Braves suffered two 106+ MPH Line-Outs in the Home Sixth and Dylan Lee gave up four points on three gays in the seventh, giving the Mets a solid 7-2 lead. Apart from a few scattered hits, there was no action until the ninth, when Austin Cox gave up two solo homers. The Braves attack was quite quiet for the rest of the game.

Well that felt like the last nail in the chest of 2025 for these Braves, in a pretty pathetic outing. Tomand tomorrow at 1:35 pm etc. for the last game of the series.
