Bank of Baroda (BOB) has improved its UPI app (Unified Payments Interface (UPI) -Bob E -Pay, by introducing three international functionalities -UPI Global Acceptance, foreign inward remittance and UPI services for NRIS.
The aforementioned functions will enable seamless, safe and real-time cross-border digital payments and transfers for Indian and NRI customers, according to the declaration of the Public Sector Bank.
For all international UPI services, the limit per day and per transaction limit RS. 1 Lakh (the same as the domestic UPI transaction limit).
Sanjay Mudaliar, executive director, said: “UPI has brought about a revolution in digital payments in India and we are delighted to now extend the benefits of international use through Bob इ Pay International.”
The bank said that its customers who travel abroad can use their Bob e-Pay app to make payments based on QR code to international traders directly from their Indian bank account.
This service is available in 8 countries that accept UPI – Mauritius, Singapore, the VAE, the US, France, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan.

Residents of Singapore can send money to a Bob e-Pay user in India, simply by introducing the registered UPI ID/VPA of the recipient. The sender will enter the amount in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and the beneficiary will receive the funds in Indian rupees (INR) directly on their UPI linked bank account.
With the help of the app, BOBs can send NRI customers money and receive money via UPI. During visits to India, these customers can link their NRE/NRO accounts to the app using a domestic mobile number and make seamless UPI payments for trading materials and peer-to-peer fund transfers.
