Another year of more than 200,000 units sold, with BMW Motorrad delivering 202,563 motorcycles and scooters to customers around the world. This is the fourth year in a row in which the Munich motorcycle manufacturer has recorded sales above 200,000 units.
Despite an overall sales decline in the premium motorcycle segment above 500 cc, including volatile trading conditions, intense price competition, regulatory restrictions and new customs regulations, BMW Motorrad managed to sell 15,109 motorcycles in December 2025, marking a strong year-end sales performance.
Several markets recorded their best-ever sales last year, including Italy, Spain, Japan, Australia, Portugal, Canada, Malaysia and the Netherlands. Although the sales figure for Malaysia was not disclosed, China made a significant contribution to BMW Motorrad’s international sales figures with 10,555 motorcycles sold.

America remains a crucial market for BMW Motorrad, despite the political unrest in the US, with 14,869 motorcycles delivered. Brazil contributed the second highest figure, with 14,488 two-wheelers sold.
BMW Motorrad’s performance in the EU continued to be strong, with its home market of Germany having the highest sales figure in the world, with 25,516 motorcycles sold. 19,019 BMW Motorrads were sold in France, 16,692 units in Italy and 14,005 showroom units in Spain.
As expected, the new generation ‘R’ motorcycles are leading BMW Motorrad’s sales figures, with the R 1300 RT, R 1300 R and R 1300 RS being well received by the riding public. However, the jewel in BMW Motorrad’s sales crown in 2025 was the latest version of the legendary ‘GS’ motorcycle, the R 1300 GS and R 1300 GS Adventure.

In terms of number of units, the very Overlander, the R 1300 GS Adventure, saw 33,570 units leave the showroom door, while the R 1300 GS with its smaller fuel tank sold 32,555 units. These were followed by BMW Motorrad’s powerful four-cylinder superbike, the S 1000 RR, with 11,643 motorcycles hitting the highways and race circuits.
The four-cylinder models in BMW Motorrad’s range sold 20,859 units in 2025, with a further 7,549 units from the performance-driven ‘M’ series, M 1000 R, M 1000 RR and M 1000 XR, bringing sales to a total of 28,408 four-cylinder engines sold. BMW Motorrad also saw strong sales performance in the middleweight segment, with the F 800 GS, the F 900 R and the F 900 GS, while the scooters – C 400 GT, C 400 X and the electric scooters CE02 and CE04 – sold 18,400 units.
