Blue Jays: George Springer left Game 3 of the World Series with right side discomfort
George Springer’s health is at stake.
The game went on to become one of the second-longest World Series games in history, with the Dodgers ultimately edging out the Jays. However, the Jays received some news after the game as numerous sources reported Springer left with right side discomfort and is out day to day.
Discomfort on the right side for George Springer, who went for an MRI every day
Losing Springer for any period of time will be a major blow to the Blue Jays. This postseason, he’s hitting .246/.323/.561 with four home runs in 65 at-bats and has been a fixture at the top of the Blue Jays lineup.
Hopefully the same thing happens in Tuesday’s Game 4. It seems like it’s a see-and-see kind of situation. If Springer can’t go on Tuesday, Bichette will likely slide into the designated hitter role, with an unspecified leadoff hitter.
If the Jays have to remove Springer from the playoff roster, that would allow them to add a pitcher, which is necessary since Monday night’s game went 18 innings with the Jays using every reliever in the bullpen.
That said, hopefully the Jays get some good news ahead of Tuesday’s Game 4.
