The Toronto Blue Jays took full control of their ALDS series on Sunday afternoon and achieved a 2-0 series lead with a 13-7 victory over the New York Yankees. The Yankees pushed that victory on the edge of elimination as the series shifts to the Bronx on Tuesday evening.
In general, the Blue Jays won the first two games of the series with a combined margin of 23-8 and continued the seasonal message they delivered to the Yankees- We are better than you.
Blue Joys leaves little doubt about which team is better
The last classification of the American League East ended in a draw with the Blue Jays who was given the title through Tiebreker, but that does not really tell the story of these two teams and their seasons. Because when they have been on the same field, play against each other, there is little doubt about which team has been better.
It’s Toronto. And it can be Toronto with a broad margin.
After Sunday’s victory, the Blue Jays improved this season against the Yankees in head-to-head meetings this season, defeated a combined score of 93-67. That includes a 9-3 record in the 12 games they have played since the beginning of June.
The Yankees have had many of the same mistakes throughout the season that existed last year when it comes to their basic principles and situational baseball, and it led the Blue Jays -broadcaster Buck Martinez to frag the Yankees absolutely at the end of the regular season by simply saying that they are not a good baseball team.
On the one hand, you will not win 94 games by accident and without being good at anything, but if the final goal is the best team in baseball and wins a championship, it is quite clear that they still miss something. At least it is quite clear that they are not as good as a Toronto team that has combined everything this season.
Toronto just threw better, better field, the bases ran better and perhaps, the most important thing, has let his best players get through at great moments than the best players in the Yankees.
Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. On Sunday again with his second home run of the series in so many competitions, and this was a game-changing and series-shifting-Grand Slam to give the Blue Jays a 9-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning.
