4:43 pm: Manager John Schneider says that Borucki de Jays has informed that he hopes to stay in the organization for the rest of the season (passed on by Arden Swelling or Sportnet). There is a good chance that he knew exemptions as an approaching free agent, and it seems that he intends to accept an outright assignment and report it to Triple-A Buffalo if that turns out to be the case.
3:33 pm: The Blue Jays announced on Monday that left -handed reliever Ryan Borucki is designated for assignment. His place on the Roster goes to the top perspective Trey YESAVAGEwhose previously reported promotion is now official.
YESAVAGE will make his Major League debut tonight in Tampa Bay. He starts opposite hard-throwing rays on the right Joe Boyle. Yesavage, the first round of last year from East Carolina, made a rapid climb by the minors. He did not throw at all in his concept year and started this season in Low-A. He threw his way through every full season Minor League level and now gets a few weeks to make a plea for recording on the play -off schedules of Toronto.
That decision will probably end the second Stint of Borucki with the Blue Jays. Toronto signed him at the end of last month with a Minor League contract after he was released by the Pirates. The Jays selected his contract a little more than a week later. Borucki managed 4 1/3 scoreless frames about four performances, although he ran four of the 19 batters with which he was confronted. The Southpaw threw 2/3 innings for the BUCs earlier in season and worked on a 5.28 earnings. He had an average strikeout and hiking numbers, but got ground balls with a clip of 55%.
The Jays are familiar with Borucki, whom they prepared from high school more than ten years ago. That came under a previous front office, but he spent his first four and a half MLB seasons with Toronto under the current regime. They apparently did not intend to wear him as a situational grounder specialist in the late season. They will place it remotely again in the coming days, and he could get a lead in the low season by choosing free agency if he is not claimed. Borucki would be a free agent anyway, and he would not be eligible for Playoff if another team would claim him.
