The news team of Economic Data is the front line of this coverage and delivers numbers accurately and quickly and also offers direct context that is vital for decision makers. We are real -time data journalists who build workflows to import, transform, format and publish figures within a few seconds. We are also responsible for investigating hundreds of economists every week to produce predictions in the medium term and the consensus estimates that help traders to buy or sell.
We are looking for a versatile candidate to serve as a team leader for Asia Pacific Economic Data News, based in Hong Kong. You are responsible for covering the release of important indicators in a region with three of the world’s five largest economies, plus many other markets crucial in geopolitics and trade. With American rates that buffer the region for years, our headlines, short stories and tables are becoming increasingly important. Nevertheless, we also have to innovate in our coverage and identify opportunities to ensure that we keep a changing economic world.
The ideal candidate combines news judgment, technical knowledge and management skills or potential with interest in economic data and a competitive line. You know how to communicate well, you are calm under pressure and you understand the importance of building and maintaining positive relationships in the newsroom and the company. You must be an agent for change that thinks outside the frameworks to meet the evolving requirements of the customer.

At least 10 years of experience in a field with regard to economics, finance, data science or journalism

A desire to learn and to question the status quo constructively
