Los Angeles Dodgers Left-handed pitcher Blake Snell had a Cy Young-like performance against the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday evening … literally.
Snell threw seven innings from Shutout -Honkbal, so that only two hits and two walks were allowed while they threw 12.

During his last two starts, Snell now threw at least 11 batters, while he allows two or less hits, two or fewer walks, zero runs and zero extra basehits.
The only other pitcher who does that in MLB history in modern times? Cy Young Back in 1905, by optast.

Snell drove through the first six innings before he had the seventh problems. After he had withdrawn the first two batters from the inning, he walked the next two, causing the binding run to the plate.
Manager Dave Roberts began to get out of the Dugout to possibly remove Snell, who was on 107 throws.

“You know what I was actually 50/50 in that situation,” Roberts said after the game about whether he would go Snell. “It is clear that I made my decision 99.9 percent of the time. But at that time I was a bit in the air.”
Snell had already made a decision.
“Please,” Snell said he told Roberts. “Keep me in, I have it.”
After a short conversation, Roberts jogged back to the Dugout. Five throws later, Snell had his 12th strikeout of the night in what was one of the best pitching versions of the season.
“It meant a lot that he trusted me,” Snell said. “I don’t like the bull pen finishing my innings. I am very false about that. I don’t want them in that situation. I put myself in it, I can get my way out of it.”
Snell did exactly that and joined an impressive company.
