After one of the worst ETF outflows of the year, new on-chain data shows BlackRock is buying again… and buying aggressively.
Arkham Intelligence today (Nov 24) spotted a massive inflow into BlackRock’s custodial portfolios: ~2,269 BTC (~$197 million) + ~16,600 ETH (~$48 million) in one move.
This comes immediately after five straight days of ETF redemptions that forced issuers to pour hundreds of millions into Bitcoin last week. The mirror has been turned: fear out, greed back in.
The shift: the selling phase is over, the buying phase begins
The pain of last week was real.
When Bitcoin fell below $90,000, investors panicked selling ETF shares and BlackRock was forced to redeem approximately $600+ million in BTC. This was the selling pressure.
But today’s data shows exactly the opposite dynamic.
ETF results from Father’s side Investors confirm that US spot Bitcoin ETFs quietly broke their outflows in mid-week, and now BlackRock is replenishing supplies.
Even though it may seem like it, it’s probably more than just “BlackRock trading.” It is the ETF mechanism doing what it always does:
- Redemptions → issuers sell BTC
- Creations → issuers buy BTC
Today was a day of creation.
Retail capitulated. Institutions buy the jump.
This is the behavioral loop that Bitcoin traders know all too well.
- Last week: Retail panic sold out → ETF issuers forced to dump coins → price crashed.
- This week: Price likely to stabilize → institutional agencies start buying back → BTC flows back into ETF portfolios.
Coin shares Data shows that there have been more than $1.9 billion in global ETF outflows in the past week. Today is the first legitimate sign that the bleeding has stopped. Smart money is making its debut.
In short
When BlackRock buys this size at this level (~$87,000), the message is simple: they are positioning themselves for a recovery.
If inflows continue at this pace, IBIT will effectively build a bottom under the market, the same dynamic that fueled Bitcoin’s 2024 rise.
This is soil-forming behavior. Not confirmed yet, but very close.
