BKFC 86 Weighings: nudges exchanged for exciting show!

BKFC 86 is almost there. The long holiday without shows is over for David Feldman’s promotion and the fights start again this weekend. Saturday night, Uncasville, CT’s Mohegan Sun Arena serves as the backdrop for the organization’s first show of the year.

After BKFC 86 on Saturday, the promotion returns to Philadelphia on the eve of this year’s Super Bowl for the sixth KnuckleMania event. More on KnuckleMania VI when the time comes.

Before Saturday night’s card (main card 7:00 PM ET/ 4:00 PM PT, DAZN after the preliminaries at 6:00 PM ET/3:00 PM PT), the final practices for the fight took place earlier tonight at Mohegan Sun with the ceremonial weigh-in of BKFC 86. As you might expect if you’ve been watching BKFC events for a while, tonight’s ceremonial weigh-ins got a little spicy.

At Friday night’s ceremonial weigh-in for BKFC 86, Julian Lane (163 1/4 lbs) and Dustin Pague (162 lbs) each came within the title fight target for their welterweight showdown in the evening’s main event. When it came time to face the cameras on the eve of the card, the fighters couldn’t resist giving some encouragement to the audience.

Security quickly arrived to break up the scuffle before it got too ugly. From then on, Lane and Pague could laugh about it as if nothing had happened.

When Lane was interviewed after the scuffle, he simply said, “I prayed I didn’t have to kill him, but I guess I’m going to have to kill him.”

However, there were no fireworks during the evening’s co-main event showdown at bantamweight. Jamel Herring (134 1/4 lbs) takes on Matt Guymon (134 3/4 lbs) in the co-main attraction.

When those two had their photo-op, it was a friendly exchange of chuckles between them.
