Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft, has reinvented himself as an uncanny advocate for climate alarmism and other left-wing causes, raising concerns about the projected increase in preventable infant deaths and blaming them for cuts in global healthcare funding by the Trump administration.
In one recent interview Along with Politico, Bill Gates claimed that the number of preventable infant deaths is expected to increase for the first time in 25 years. His Gates Foundation expects an increase of 200,000 deaths compared to the previous year. Gates directly linked this disturbing trend to the decision by the Trump administration and other wealthy countries to cut foreign aid early this year.
“There were sudden and massive cuts – you just can’t deny that this led to a lot of deaths,” Gates said, underscoring the perceived impact of these cuts. While the Trump administration disputes this connection, Gates remains committed to working with them to boost funding in the future. He said he had had productive conversations with President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio to address the issue.
Breitbart News previously reported that Gates attacked Elon Musk and the Trump administration over aid funding cuts:
The co-founder of Microsoft told the Financial times that Musk will be responsible for “killing the world’s poorest children” by dismantling the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
As Breitbart News reported, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said announced in March it was reported that 83 percent of programs directly funded and administered by USAID had been canceled because their funding was deemed contrary to core interests of the United States.
“The 5,200 contracts now being canceled have spent tens of billions of dollars in ways that did not serve (and in some cases even harm) the core national interests of the United States,” Rubio said at the time.
Gates pointed out that the cuts have had the most negative impact in regions such as northern Nigeria, where more than 10 percent of children die before they reach the age of five. He specifically mentioned the abrupt layoff of staff and the cessation of funding for malaria prevention, food distribution and tuberculosis detection in the first half of the year.
Despite the Trump administration’s rejection of the link between aid cuts and increased deaths, Gates remains hopeful that his conversations with President Trump and Secretary Rubio will lead to a return to previous levels of aid. He stressed the importance of the next six months in determining the role of the US Congress in setting global health budgets and shaping new treaties for poor countries.
Breitbart News previously reported that while Bill Gates has backtracked on his climate alarmism, he remains committed to extreme positions on many issues, including vaccinations:
From a study published in the New England Journal of Medicinescientists have demonstrated the effectiveness of using mosquitoes as ‘flying syringes’ to vaccinate people against malaria. The research, conducted at the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) in the Netherlands with funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundationrepresents a new and potentially worrying advance in vaccine technology.
The study involved genetically modifying malaria parasites so that their development stops after a certain period of time in the human body. The modified parasites, called GA1 and GA2, are designed to stimulate the immune system without causing a full-blown malaria infection. Researchers then infected mosquitoes with these artificial parasites and allowed them to bite human subjects in a controlled environment.
