Bill Cosby tries to cash in his old mansion in the Upper East Side before the bank does it for him.
The Chatter 88-year-old actor mentioned his seven-storey mansion on 18 East 71st Street for $ 29 million, according to Broker.com. The offer amounts to $ 2,230 per square foot.
The relocation comes more than eight months after Lender First Foundation Bank accused Cosby of giving a loan of $ 17.5 million linked to the house of 13,000 square feet. The bank claims that he has stopped making payments on the debt and owes more than $ 300,000 in real estate tax.
Cosby and his wife, Camille, bought the limestone Manse in 1990 for $ 6.3 million. Known as the Luyster Mansion, dates from 1899 and is full of period, from mahogany floors to an original lift that still connects almost every level.
