Breeders’ Cup Ltd. today revealed the official race order, post times and betting menu for the 42i.e World Breeders’ Cup Championships Oct. 31-Nov. 1 at Del Mar Thoroughbred Club in Del Mar, California.

The 2025 World Championships will once again feature 14 Class 1 races and more than $34 million in prize money and prizes, bringing together the sport’s best horses, owners, breeders, trainers and jockeys on racing’s biggest stage. Del Mar, “Where the Turf Meets the Surf” on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, will host the Breeders’ Cup for the fourth time, following a record 2024 edition that set a new global wagering benchmark of $203.7 million.

The $7 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic anchors a 3.5-hour NBC broadcast on Saturday (12:30-4:00 PM PT / 3:30-7:00 PM ET) as Race 9 with a post time of 3:25 PM PT / 6:25 PM ET. The centerpiece of the two-day international racing festival will be a truly epic showdown, featuring last year’s top three finishers – Sierra Leone, Fierceness and Japanese star Forever Young – alongside Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve, Belmont Stakes Presented by NYRA Bets and DraftKings Travers Stakes winner Sovereignty and Preakness Stakes and NYRA Bets Haskell Stakes winner Journalism. Five championship races precede the Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic and three follow, with the Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic kicking off Late Pick 4 and serving as the second leg of the Late Pick 5, which begins with Race 8.

NBC Sports will produce more than 10 hours of world-class race coverage during the World Championships, broadcast live on NBC and USA Network. All of NBC’s coverage will also be streamed simultaneously on Peacock, with live, continuous coverage of all 14 Breeders’ Cup races. In addition to the Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic, Saturday’s 3.5-hour NBC broadcast (12:30-4:00 PM PT / 3:30-7:00 PM ET) will feature four other championship races. The World Championships begin Friday with a 10-race card anchored by the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf. The first post is 11:35 AM PT / 2:35 PM ET, with five undercard races leading up to the first championship race – the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint, Race 6, with a post time of 2:45 PM PT / 5:45 PM ET. The Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf, Race 10, closes out the day with a post time of 5:25 PM PT / 8:25 PM ET.

The 12-race Saturday card kicks off at 10:05 AM PT / 1:05 PM ET with three undercard races before the PNC Bank Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint Race 4 kicks off championship action with a post time of 12:00 PM PT / 3:00 PM ET.

After the Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic, there will be three Breeders’ Cup races, as follows:

This year, 43 international jurisdictions will bet on the Breeders’ Cup World Championships through community and individual pool betting, including Australia, Canada, England, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Ireland, Mexico and Turkey.

The 2025 betting menu for the two-day World Championships includes a total of ten Pick 4s, six Pick 5s, two Pick 6s and four special daily doubles.

Breeders’ Cup also offers three Pick 5s on Saturday. The early Pick 5 is Race 1 through Race 5. The middle Pick 5 begins with Race 5, the Prevagen Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint and ends with Race 9, the Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic. The late Pick 5 starts with the Longines Breeders’ Cup Turf and ends with the final race of the day, the Maker’s Mark Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf.

Deployment Notes

  • Pick 6, Pick 5s and High 5 from Friday can be carried over to Saturday.
  • Any Pick 5 transfer from Friday or the early Pick 5 on Saturday will carry over to the late Pick 5 on Saturday. The Middle Pick 5 on Saturday has a mandatory payout.
  • Saturday’s Pick 6, Late Pick 5 and final Super High 5 are required to be paid on Breeders’ Cup Saturday.
