Zero Torque Putters are the latest craze when it comes to golf equipment, but which are the best? Are they more forgiving? And do they help you hole more putts?
Before 2025, many would have thought of zero torque as something associated with power tools and the like. But now golfers know they are super forgiving putters.
Mainstream manufacturers Odyssey, Scotty Cameron and TaylorMade have joined early pioneers LAB Golf and putter specialists Betinnardi and Evnroll in the launch Zero Torque Putter Models.
But which of the anti-twist hammers comes out on top? Which are the best zero-torque putters for your handicap? And what are the benefits of adding them to the bag?
1. Odyssey Ai-ONE Square 2 Square
Odyssey’s Ai-ONE Square 2 Square Seriesincluding models like the Jailbird, #7 and Double Wide, and features a center shaft design with a forward push to promote a square clubface at impact.
The putters feature Ai-One smart face technology for improved distance control and a stroke-balanced design that minimizes face rotation.
The putters are extremely easy to align and effective at maintaining a square face throughout the stroke, leading to greater confidence and consistency on the green.
Odyssey also has the Max and Max Stripe putterswhich are very similar in design to the LAB DF 2.1 model.
2. LAB GolfDF 2.1
A standout in the no-torque category, the LAB Golf DF 2.1 uses Lie Angle Balance (LAB) technology to maintain a square face throughout the stroke.
The distinctive design, with a large hammer head CNC machined from 6061 aircraft aluminum, may seem unconventional, but delivers exceptional stability and forgiveness.
This putter has gained traction on professional tours, with players like Richard Bland scoring significant victories with it.
Improved consistency, especially on putts within 10 feet, is provided by the DF 2.1, with the putter’s ability to reduce torque and promote a smoother stroke being the big factor in its popularity.
3. Scotty Cameron OC low torque
The Scotty Cameron OC low torque putters introduce the leading brand’s first design aimed at minimizing torque during the putting stroke.
They achieved this by positioning the shaft back from the leading edge and directly in line with the putter head’s center of gravity in a configuration known as the Onset Center (OC).
It is Scotty Cameron’s first step in the industry to reduce face rotation and promote a square feel, with the Phantom 11R mallet and Fastback mid-mallet featuring heavier head weights than their standard designs.
4. Odyssey Square 2 Square Tri-Hot
The Odyssey S2S Tri-Hot putter line are the brand’s second zero torque range, bringing together Square 2 Square technology and the feel of the Tri-Hot plane.
An innovative multi-material construction uses aluminum, steel and more than 140 grams of tungsten to dramatically shift the center of gravity forward, with more than 80% of the putter’s weight directly below the topline.
The range includes several models including the Seven, Rossie, Jailbird and Jailbird Cruiser, all with an AI-engineered dual-layer urethane Ai-DUAL face for a very good feel that accompanies the stability of the S2S technology.
5. TaylorMade Spider ZT
The Taylormade Spider ZT putter is a groundbreaking addition to the Spider Tour family, introducing zero-torque technology with reduced face rotation and improved consistency on the greens.
Featuring a high MOI (moment of inertia) head made from multi-material construction, the ZT positions its axis directly in line with the center of gravity – 25mm behind the face.
The design helps minimize twisting during the stroke, keeping the clubface square at impact and promoting a controlled, repeatable roll.
6. Bettinardi antidote putters
The SB1 blade and SB2 hammer are the two models the Bettinardi Antidote seriesthe brand’s first zero-torque models.
The putters feature Bettinardi’s Simply Balanced technology which ensures the face remains square throughout the stroke for maximum control and consistency on the greens.
The SB1 features a classic wide head design with curved bumpers and a thick topline and a precision machined body made from 303 stainless steel for premium feedback and control.
The SB2 reverses the material rolls with a 6061 aluminum housing paired with a 303 stainless steel insert.

7. Develop ZERO Z5s
The Evnroll ZERO Z5s combines traditional aesthetics with zero-torque performance, with FaceForward technology aligning the axis with the center of gravity and reducing face rotation during the stroke.
The putter is 100% milled from 303 stainless steel and features Evnroll’s SweetFace technology, which ensures consistent ball speeds across the entire face.
This model offers exceptional stability, especially on longer putts, and alignment aids including a two-point center alignment scheme and a concave sight line.
8. PXG Allan
The PXG Allan putter also features Zero Torque Balance Technology, which aligns the shaft axis just above the center of gravity to minimize torque during the stroke.
This design results in a “toe-up” toe hang, which helps keep the putter face square to the target line.
The putter also features a modern mallet aesthetic with a unique neck position, which contributes to stability and balance.
It is noted that the ball performs consistently even on off-center hits, and feels soft yet responsive at impact.
