West -bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose approved the persecution of the State’s Correctional Services Minister, Chandranath Sinha, in connection with the school recruitment by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED), a Raj Bhawan -source confirmed.

“Based on the documents presented for him, the Governor has punished the persecution of Chandanath Sinha, Minister, Government of West Bengal, for the crime of money white wax with regard to the matter of recruiting the primary teachers,” the source said.

The ED has submitted a loading sheet against Sinha in a special court. According to the protocol, every investigation body requires permission from the governor concerned to prosecute a sitting minister because the governor is the appointment of authority.

The research under the Prevention of Money Launking ACT, 2002, revealed the involvement of suspended TMC leader Partha Chatterjee, the then Minister of Education, together with others, in a large-scale scam.

Eligible and deserving candidates were denied appointments as school teachers, while not eligible, lower -arranged and even failed candidates were recommended and illegally appointed in exchange for money.

In January 2023, during a raid on the residence of suspended TMC youth leader Kunal Ghosh, the ED seized increased documents who identified agents involved in facilitating the recruitment of non -intended candidates.

One document specifically the name Chandranath Sinha, a sitting MLA and Minister, claiming that he had referred several candidates. Registered statements indicated that payments were made to agents, including Minister Sinha, to secure these agreements.

A search in Sinha’s home also resulted in the recovery of RS. 41 LAKH in non -responsible money. After this, Sinha was called several times by the ED for interrogation.

An ED -Source revealed that approximately RS 1.5 crore in cash deposits were made on Sinha’s bank accounts between 2016 and 2021. In the event of interrogation, Sinha could not satisfy the sources of the recovered cash and deposits.

On Wednesday, the ED submitted his sixth additional tax sheet at De Roop van de Primary Teachers Recruitment SCAM. The 62 pages document was submitted before the special court chaired by Judge Suvendu Saha.

The charges of 55 accused, including 26 people such as former Minister of Education Partha Chatterjee, Arpita Mukherjee and Sujoy Krishna Bhadra. Bolpur Mla Chandranath Sinha is one of the new accused. The remaining 29 accused included various organizations related to the scam, sources told India Today.

According to research sources, Sinha acted as an agent in this corruption packet. His name is associated with 159 candidates for Primary Education Messages. “It is clear from the statements of accused Kunal Ghosh and Tapas Mandal that Chandanath Sinha 159 has recommended candidates. These 159 candidates were appointed in the job in exchange for money,” added sources.
