Lake Elsinore, California – Celeste Rivas Hernandez was just one of the children in her neighborhood in Lake Elsinore, a domestic government community that has drawn young families for generations in search of a piece of suburbs far from the high prices and drama of the big city.
She visited the corner shop almost every day with her friends, with a backpack and her usual long, curly black hair. She got sweets, soft drinks and branch. She was a familiar face for neighbors and local entrepreneurs.
But there was something in her world that she kept for herself.
Last year she disappeared during Valentine’s Day. It was the first of many episodes of her running away from home, something that brought tensions into her household and worried in her community.
According to Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Records, Celeste was missing three times by her family, in three incidents that arose in the early 2024 and several calls with the local police.
Her mother made emotional supplications on Facebook to come home. Neighbors saw missing messages on local streets. Her family was looking for video surveillance from their neighborhood that could yield instructions.

She usually returned to Lake Elsinore and mixed back in her life as a high school student.
At the beginning of September, the Los Angeles police announced that her resolutive body had been found in the trunk of a Tesla owned by singer D4VD. The vehicle was parked in a street in a luxury Hollywood Hills-district where the 20-year-old D4VD, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, rented a house.
The office of the medical researcher of Los Angeles County said that Celeste was declared dead on 8 September, one day after her birthday. But the authorities believe that she had been dead for weeks before she was discovered and probably did not see her 15th birthday.
The police are now trying to connect her life in Sleepy Lake Elsinore until her death in one of the famous neighborhoods of Los Angeles. And they try to understand any connections between Celeste and D4VD.
Legal enforcement sources said that detectives watch videos that seem to show her alongside D4VD. They apparently also obtained some photos of them, according to the sources, which were not authorized to publicly discuss the details of the case.
Authorities did not determine how she died and the police said Burke was working together.
In Lake Elsinore are people who managed to grieve Celeste and want to answer.
“Everyone in the community is sad, not just the children,” said Elie Naddaf, owner of a store on the corner near Celeste. “You can see it with everyone who comes here.”

How Celeste Burke met remains unclear. Procurement sources that are familiar with the research say that they met online. Burke received an online supporter by placing “Fortnite” clips on YouTube and turned to make his own music. He was signed by a record label by 2022.
Celeste grew up in Lake Elsinore, a daughter of the first generation of immigrant parents from El Salvador, and went to Lakeland Village School.
Burke was on tour when the body of Celeste was found on 8 September and he canceled the remaining data from his North -American tour when she was identified.
While Burke has gathered a supporter on social media with his music in recent years, he has remained silent about the death of Celeste. Representatives of Burke did not respond to repeated requests for comments and representatives for his music label, darkroom and interscope, could not be reached.

The first time she left the house, a family friend and police records indicated, was on Valentine’s Day 2024.
In a Facebook message, Martinez wrote that Celeste was last seen on February 14, 2024.
“Please share,” she wrote in Spanish. “It’s my daughter, and I am desperate and she is missing for 24 hours.”
According to police files, she was missing on February 15, 2024. Her family called Riverside County Sheriff officials at 9:18 am
Alonso said that the teenager was seen in home cameras who left the house somewhere around 2 o’clock that she had also left a letter for her family, Alonso said, although it is unclear what the letter said.
A few hours later that day, records show that representatives were called to the house at 7:41 PM for a follow -up report.
Sheriff officers of Riverside County refused to release data relating to the report of missing persons, referring to a revolving investigation and records involving a minor.

Alonso said Celeste returned home, and her mother told Alonso that Celeste had been upset by the social media reports, kites in the neighborhood and the publicity it had generated.
According to Records, the teenager did not stay at home for long. On March 19, 2024, the Van Celeste family reported her missing again.
Naddaf said that the Van Celeste family asked him if he had surveillance images of the street. He shared a video clip with them that showed a girl with light pants and a dark sweater who walked through the street. He believes that the girl was Celeste and that it seemed to show that she was approaching a dark vehicle outside the frame of the security video.
He shared the images with the family, but did not hear from them back.
Call logs to the Sheriff Department of the Riverside County show that her family is called civil servants at 7:57 am to report her missing. Delegates returned about a week later on March 26 for a follow-up, but officials refused to provide information about the report.
A few days later, Celeste was missing again. This time her family called representatives on April 5, 2024. The call, according to records, came at 9:29 PM
A few days later, representatives were called to the house for a follow -up report, according to Call Logs, on April 11, April 19 and April 20. Allegedly, Celeste left her house with gray pants, a black sweater, a hat and Hello Kitty Sandals.
In one of the incidents she was reported as missing, Alonso said, Celeste was driven home in a police patrol car.
It is unclear when Celeste returned to the house, but neighbors in the community said they saw the young girl in the neighborhood later that year, at home with her parents.
Alonso said that Celeste’s mother believes that her daughter had a boyfriend, but had not met him.
