CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Bee Two Bee (Sunny beach) scored his class in the $5,100 Preferred 2 pace on Saturday at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park, racing past late to capture the race 11 harness race in 1:56.3 over a good track with a three-second variation.
Jason Hughes provided the winning trip from post 5 as Bee Two Bee ($7.70) left the speed, spun around the track and cruised clear past House Edge Hanover (driven by Ken Murphy) with Twin B Tuffenuff (Gilles Barrieau) third. Eight-year-old Sunshine Beach is trained by Ashley Gamester for co-owners Donald MacRae, Vernon Bridge and Blair MacLauchlan, Charlottetown.

Previously, the “In Memory of Jerome Campbell” Pace went to Gator Hanover ($7.90) in 1:59 in Race 6 for the stable of driver Hughes and trainer Adam Merner, finishing a half-length ahead of stablemate Sports Teller (Merner) with Starship Glyde (Marc Campbell) third.
The Merner stable doubled when Mr Kelly ($4.90) made a smart rally in race 10 in 1:59.4 for trainer-driver Merner.
Driver Hughes tripled as Katies Bet ($8.80) cruised home in Race 4 in 1:59.1 for trainer Kyle Wilkie.
In Race 1, Nolan’s Magic Shui ($2.30) started the day in 1:58.4 in front of Paul Langille’s barn, followed by another win for trainer-driver Langille in Race 7, with Im Hungry ($10.50) running into late traffic for a 2:03.3 decision. Langille also caught Race 5 winner Shadows Terror ($16.10), who got into trouble in 2:00.3 for trainer Lenny Myers, on top of a $334.00 exactor ticket.
Raising Sand ($4.20) closed the card with a sharp off-the-pace figure in the finale of race 12, stopping the clock in 1:58.2 for driver-pilot Marc Campbell and trainer Todd Walsh. Rymar Jimbo (Murphy) was second in the game and Laughagain Hanover (Hughes) was third.
