The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has congratulated the Indian Cricket team with their dominant performance against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025. The team defeated their arch rivals in all three encounters-the group phase, Super Four and the final without doubt about their superiority.
BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia praised the players and support staff for bringing glory to the country, saying:
“All three competitions were one -sided, and we congratulate our players and the support staff for bringing a lot of glory in our country. Our forces have delivered it to the border area. Now the same has been repeated in Dubai. This is an excellent moment, an important opportunity for Indian cricket.”
As recognition for their efforts, the board announced a cash reward of RS 21 Crore for the team, to be distributed among players and support staff.
Saikia was also about the controversy around the trophy presentation after the last victory of India. The Indian team refused to accept the Asia Cup trophy from ACC chairman Mohsin Naqvi, a senior official from Pakistan.
“We have decided not to take the Asia Cup 2025 trophy from the ACC chairman, who happens to be one of the most important leaders of Pakistan. But that does not mean that the Lord takes the trophy away with the medals. It is very unfortunate and we hope that the trophy and the medals will be returned to India as soon as possible,” Saikia.
The BCCI is planning to formally discuss the matter at the upcoming ICC conference in Dubai in November. “In the next conference we are going to launch a very serious and very strong protest against the ACC chairman’s act,” he added.
