The victory marks India’s sixth U19 World Cup title and their third since 2018. The team enjoyed an undefeated season and came when it mattered most, recording impressive victories over Afghanistan and England in the knockout stages to cap off a dominant tournament.
“A cash prize of Rs 7.5 crore will be given to the Indian team that won the U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup in Zimbabwe and Namibia. We are working on the details of the distribution of the prize amount for players, coaching staff and the selection committee, but Rs 7.5 crore is the total reward for them from the BCCI,” Saikia said as quoted by News18.

India are now six-time champions of the competition, two more titles than second-placed Australia. After a memorable undefeated campaign, the team was showered with praise from all sides. BCCI President Mithun Manhas praised the team’s confidence and character displayed during the tournament.
“Winning the Under-19 World Cup for the sixth time is a remarkable achievement and a reflection of India’s strength in age-group cricket. This team played with confidence and character throughout the tournament. Winning both the men’s and women’s Under-19 World Cup titles is a matter of immense pride and highlights the depth of our cricketing structure,” Mithun Manhas said in a BCCI statement.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi produced a record-breaking knock of 175 off 80 balls to propel India to a massive total of 411/9. The target proved to be much further than England U19, who were bowled out for 311 in their chase. The Indian team is expected to return home with the trophy on Sunday, February 8.
