Rashford joined Barcelona on loan from Manchester United last summer. The winger has had a productive spell in Spain, scoring six goals and providing eight assists in all competitions.
The Spanish champions are delighted with his performances and have informed Rashford’s representatives of their desire to retain the England international beyond the current season. Barcelona have a €30 million option to sign Rashford permanently.
Fabrizio Romano reports that there is no ‘guarantee’ that Barcelona will charge that fee, with a deal dependent on the club’s finances and Rashford’s salary demands. However, the Catalans are satisfied with the player’s performance.
Rashford is believed to be happy in Spain as his position on a possible return to Manchester United is unclear at the moment.
United are currently looking for a new head coach following the sacking of Ruben Amorim on Monday.
